Topham and Edward head along an obscure track leading to the magic buffers on a risky search for Thomas, for there was no sight of the tank engine anywhere on Sodor’s grounds.

Running into those particular buffers meant entering through a strange portal. The environment changed suddenly from a typical grassland to something dark, eerie and quiet. Nonetheless, Edward kept on following throughout the seemingly endless line.
He begins seeing floating, glowing particles scattered everywhere in the air like minuscule stars. Glancing at something bright up front, he continues forward towards it until he gets greeted with an even stranger landscape:
The very tracks he was running on lit up with sparkling energy, akin to bio-luminescence — the same case happened with Edward’s stripes, lining, and even his number. Respectively, the plumes of his smoke turned more colorful than ever.
He could only look in awe at this vast, beautiful place and can even spot some engines working in this new world from great distances. Somehow most familiar, hard metal objects have become integrated as naturally forming constructs in this land — gear bushes? Screw stalagmites? Pipe-branched trees?
Edward didn’t want to distract himself, so he just kept on moving forward on the search.
