Description I can't take any credit for this image. I just wanted to repost it to get the message around.

Most people don't realize this, but some stores don't have designated cart corrals or people whose specific job it is (my brother used to do this) to go round up carts. That means every time someone goes out to do a cart run, it's time lost that reduces customer service for everyone. It also makes it harder for other shoppers if there aren't any carts available around the store, especially those who are elderly or otherwise infirm. I can't tell you how many times a day a customer mentions having a bad back or recent surgery or pregnancy, and when they need one or more 40-50 pound bags of dog food and whatnot, it's a real problem if there are no carts.

And then there's carts that get left in the snow, picked up by snowplows, and hidden in the snowbanks so stores can find mangled messes of metal in the spring. Which increase overhead. Which raises prices on the things you buy.

I'm not trying to shame or anything, but please, a little thought. Especially when the weather's bad. Trust me, the people in the store who will see you will want to hug you.

P.S. I say this especially to my fellow Christians because it's kind of a meme that after church events, all the young guys make it almost a competition to see who can round up the most chairs - preferably at once, with girls of about the same age watching. I know I've done it. Let's see the same energy in parking lots, eh?
