Draconequus. It's a creature unique to the show - and so far, Discord's the only one. It's pretty much a mishmash of all sorts of different animals - head of a horse, claws of a lion and an eagle, tail of a dragon, etc etc. He's WAY too much fun to draw. XD

So essentially an overdone chimera?
Really? Sounds like it would be a pain to be honest.

No, essentially a draconequus, the embodiment of chaos and an awesome character. XD They'll probably have chimeras in the show at some point, they've already had Cerberus, cockatrices, dragons, manticores and griffins...Watch the show, man.
Nah. Complicated doesn't necessarily mean "a pain". I find him very fun to draw - I doodle him a lot. All the different parts and shapes are fun.

You've got to be sh#ting me. ML-Freaking-P has Cerberus, cockatrices, and manticores? My monster nerd side is currently frothing at the mouth. But...gosh darn it I'm already efemininet! The last thing I need is to be a suspected child molester on top of singing falseto! But...friggin CERBERUS! One of the coolest mythological creatures EVER! D#mmit Rooke! Why did you tell me this?! It's like that fairy fruit from Spiderwick, it looks delicious but you know as soon as you eat it you can't eat anything else! AAAAAARRRRRGH!!!

*pat pat* Don't worry, you won't be suspected of anything. Heavens, the bronies are the nicest people on the internet I've ever met. Just a bunch of average geeky folks, enjoying a good show, and also being bizarrely nice. They started their own charity, for goodness sake. Only idiots think they're anything creepy. XD

Tell me with a straight face that there isn't something suspicious about middle-age geeks attending the same booths at cons as six year old girls.
*sigh* Are you completely serious about the mythological creatures?

DragonwolfRooke In reply to WolfpackDragonfly [2014-02-04 01:05:53 +0000 UTC]
*straight face* They are about as suspicious and weird, as any other fandom. And they are by far the nicest fandom I have ever met, in the kind, generous way of following the moral tenets of a simple show.
And those cons are for the adults, not the six year olds. XD You think little girls are setting up their own conventions? ALL MLP conventions are targeted at the adult audience, not the kids.
And eeeyup, I am.
Look, man, it's not a big deal. It's a fun show, it's good storytelling, the characters are well developed and it's entertaining to watch. If you watch and like it, good for you! If you don't, whatever! I enjoy it. *shrug*

That's all fine and well, but I went to MegaCon two years ago and there was a giant roaming pack of MLP six year old girls. They took up the entire front lobby.
It may not be a big deal for you, but I run with hard core sci-fi nerds. If they learn I'm a Brony they'll never let me hear the end of it. Especially *shivers* CONOR. But at the same time, they really don't appreciate my monster affinity, and if this could...oh screw it. You can find MLP on Netflix right?

Yup. All three seasons can be found on Netflix.
And a large percentage of bronies are hard-core sci-fi nerds as well - you'll find good company.

*watches first 2 episodes* I am going to shoot Pinky Pie in the face. She grates on every nerve of my being. Aside from her and the normal quibbles I have with compressed kid plots, pretty dang solid. I'm surprised how much self-awareness the show has. Though I'm kinda disappointed they got rid of Nightmare Moon so quickly. She had a GREAT design. Fav characters at this point are Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. (The former for just how hilariously impatient she is, and the later for in all honesty essential being a chick horse version of myself.) I'm not entirely sold yet, but as first impressions go, I give it a 7/10.

Ah, yes. Oddly, that's one of the things I quite like about the show - the characters are all unique and varied, and very true to life, in the sense that there IS that one that rubs you wrong (like the people in real life who rub you wrong) and there is the character you identify with. For me, I identify with Twilight as well, and it's Rarity that annoys me. XD But as the show progresses, the characters all have so many sides to them, that even I can't fully dislike Rarity anymore. And that's nice because that's how people are.
And yeah, Nightmare Moon has a great design, indeed. All the villains do. It's great.

*watches third episode* Major chilché alert. -1 point. And for the record, Applejack had the best reason to go. There was a greater purpose in her wanting, not self-gain or 'just for the experience.'

Okay. But one quick question: what was Applejack's brother's name? I loved his design, but I didn't quite catch his name.

...right, gonna change that for [spoiler]. Thanks. (Btw, just finished the griffin episode...gotta say I misjudged Pinky. Her voice still grates me like cheese, but I've found respect for her and oh god I'm one of them now.)
