Carved and currently tooling on 4-5oz leather.

Alrighty! I got permission from the amazingly talented to carve their Piece: [link] (go look at it, it's stunning.)

Here's to hoping I can do it justice!

Yes, I deviated. I added in the Crystal Palace, and the figures in the upper two corners.

Well, all of the PAINT is done.

What remains is resisting, antiquing (to fill in some of the details and darken a few of the colors a bit more), and finish assembly.

I really tried to reference the Mucha Zodica piece a bit here, too. His borders were a light cream, but that would have been too pale for me, so I went with light and dark gold. I also added in his light blue on the inside of the circle, and inside the portraits as well.

I did the castle in a medium blue, kind of to mirror how it looks in the anime opening - blue castle, streaky firework/comet thing, dark blue sky... only instead of a sky, we've got her fuku collar...and instead of streaky firework/comet thing, we'll have the backgrounded area lol.

I did a little bit of shading on pegasus (a little faint gray shadow, to go with that faint pink wash on his muzzle/wingtips), got all the eyes, fukus, chokers, tiaras, WHATEVER painted in...

Too many details! aaaaauuuuughhhhhh ::headexplodes:: Had I been clever, I would have enlarged the portraits, saved myself the headache.. but where's the fun in that? lol
