ur prolly hte only person in DA that doesnt need descriptions -- how in the hell do you describe this? cutouts...umbrellas.....stock photos all mushed into one that really stands out as a style of its own. Definately worthy of a cool contempo magazine. You really need to work for a design company or ad company.

First I just saw the top part of this piece and felt reminded of an other artists drawing. I forgot his name but I think he placed blue and yellow umbrellas on a landscape and then drew the scene... or did he just draw it? I don't know...
Anyway, I then scrolled down and the piece grew, not only in size but also in terms of dimension and expression. Aside from the fact that this is a well executed composition and combination of various styles and materials a lot of questions arise in me when I look at this. It's that sort of multi-dimensional pictures again which could leave me restless all night because I want to know how the formal aspects cope with the meaning and your intention behind this.
On the one hand there is the melancholic and somehow calm mood of a day at the beach. Like "Rubbersam" said, there's definately the Super 8 feel. And on the other hand the stilyzed character looks lost. Lost in a multidimensional place where oceans merge, umbrellas grow and a place where the past hits the present.
I love you and this piece. It's mind broadening.

I think this is superb. You've got that building up of space and time/rythm by the broad horizontal bands, that figure that directly communicates with the circle shape, and then on the crescendo of umbrellas that form an image in them selves. I think it is visually very strong.
