"It is the most glorious of creatures," said Nurava as his gaze lengthened to the distant setting suns. "With wings of molten gold and blood it plunges silently toward its prey. And that last moment when the unfortunate prey turns to behold its attacker, with fans of fire blocking all else from view and feet of fire extended forward: that is the epitome of power and grace, my brother." The prince smiled and lowered his head. "I only hope one day I shall live at least one such moment where all is surrendered to the purest of fire.""Why is it so important that one day experience that fire? Are you not satisfied enough with your talents?" asked Nuzarin, Nurava's twin. The young man crossed his arms and smirked as he pondered further on his brother's seeming obsession with fire. Nuzarin was deeply connected with water in the same ways that his brother was connected with fire, but not in the same depths. His brother lived and breathed fire and yet he wanted more.
"It's not about being satisfied or not being satisfied with the gift of fire, Nuzarin," said Nurara. "It's about finally understanding why I, out of millions of my brethren and ancestors before, have been gifted and cursed with this element."
"Well I know that you have struggled with it since part of its essence is anger and rage," Nuzarin said and recalled his brother's past fits of rage and the destruction that occurred as result. "But I wouldn't go as far as to call it a curse."
"Ah, but that is the reason I seek to live a single moment of that which the phoenix lives all its life. It is then that I know I'll discover why I am this way." The prince closed his eyes and uttered one last thing. "I don't want to simply live with fire. I want to live on fire."
My personal take on phoenixes. The pheasant/peacock versions are nice but phoenixes are made of fire which is vibrant, powerful, deadly, beautiful, and majestic. To me, the owl embodies these characteristics all in one. I have always been awed at the moment an owl attacks its prey. It's beautiful wings are spread in a fan of glory around it and its feathered feet extend fearlessly before it.

I was excited when the prints arrived - until I opened the tube.
The prints are dull yellows instead of the vibrant reds shown.
It is a shame what a poor job they did of reproducing your beautiful artwork.

Many times when viewed on the site or digitally in general an image might appear sharper, the colors more vibrant, than when printed. Monitor-viewed artwork will display in backlit RGB format whereas the colors must be formatted in what is called CMYK for physical rendering.We go through color testing on our print products when they convert to CMYK and print in their final format. The tones are true to the original file; however, the depth of color and brightness of the file can appear different. The final product of artwork is true to the original high resolution file provided by the artist. Due to this, a reprinted of this item will again appear different in tone when viewed in person.

Eagles are already popular phoenixes. I wanted something a bit more different
I could do some more for this but whether or not it gets a DD is not my choice. My first DD was not DD worth material in opinion compare to some of my other work. But that piece was chosen for a DD nevertheless and I had NO control over that. We'll see
