Description I want to introduce you Maien's family~

1. Alard Sorren, Mai's father. Pragmatic merchant 8D Very caring if it comes to his family, but when he noticed that Mai is a mage, he had no regrets for sending her to the Circle. He thinks that humans are better than other races.
2. Eisa Sorren, Maien's mother. She was incredibly beautiful young woman and Mai has her beauty after her. She was always very supportive for her husband, but when Templars took Mai, she had depression. She died 6 years after Mai was taken to the circle.
3. Morgana Renate Idale, Mai's oldest sister. She's merchant, as her father. Even if she's woman, she is head of her family - her husband cares about children more than her. Businesswoman : D She hates mages from all of her heart, also, she's very racist over other races. She blames Maien for their mother's death.
4. Kalle Sorren, Mai's older brother. When his father wanted to arrange his marriage, Kalle decided to run away. He left his home and traveled to Orlais. He stayed there and decided to become Templar.

I think I changed my mind at some point early on, because I think I was considering along those lines once. But what I eventually decided is that Marchon's father was absent all the time- when he was a little boy, his dad got him a job at the tower by pulling in some favors with other elves, then sort of dumped him off there, very rarely ever showing up again. He's a shitty dad.

I guess it depends on whether the servants live -in- the tower or just nearby and have to ferry in on the boat, I haven't figured out yet which makes the most sense to me. XD But I think he grew up without a real family. He can't remember his mom, doesn't even know who she was, but that's just how it's always been. He doesn't really worry about it, at least not as an adult.

He'd have been looked after by the other servants, until he got old enough for them not to need to. By necessity, he grew up very independent- it's why it bothers him when other people treat him like he needs help or pity, because he's proud that he's always done things for himself.

I guess, in thinking on it, he might have an older cousin or an uncle or aunt in the tower that'd have looked after him, someone that his father could have conned into getting him his job. I don't think they'd have been very affectionate, but not cruel either.

As far as he knows, no siblings.

Hm... being alone always makes you stronger somehow, eh? At least, that's what I believe. He doesn't look like, but he IS strong, and that's how he is in Mai's eyes - she always was kinda hopeless and weak. I think he acts like man (well.. at least when he's not all like >///< xD)

I think he's so shy about relationships and sex because he got bullied a lot by the maids and other female servants. XD He's an adorkable little ginger boy, after all, and he didn't really have anyone to protect him, so they probably tormented him relentlessly when he was growing up... pretending to tell him how handsome he was and such, when he knew very well that they were making fun of him. Still, he managed to lose his virginity to -someone-, so it can't all have been mocking. >_>;

They're just doing what they have to to survive- they're poor people, and I think his dad may be a small-time criminal of some kind, they'd probably see little Marchon as sort of a burden. I think he must have had -some- good role-models though, some family around him that were actually loving, because he saw that that was what he wanted out of life and has been desiring that so much ever since.

But, his experiences from the past will make him the best father ever, I think. You know, to not let his kids being hurt as he was, you know.

Well.. Many times she said things others wanted to hear. And, she really enjoyed playing with men, using them and then, leaving, when they wanted something more 8D She was kind of princess, made to look pretty and have a lot of servants, but being totally weak and having no other talents than that 8D but she was so damn jealous over people who had their magic >:U
I have no idea what Ryd saw in her xD Marchon seems to fell for her after she became Tranquil, but Ryd.. ._.

You've said that she was nice to the servants, and since she was so pretty I think Marchon had kind of a crush on her before she became Tranquil... but it didn't turn into love until afterward. His impulse to protect her turned into feelings for her, even though she had none to return. XD It's really very unhealthy of him...
