Ratigan manages to keep a brave face as he kisses her on the cheek and wishes her good luck. He manages to hold it all in until he gets to his office. He sits at his desk takes a shaky puff off his cigarette then begins to weep.Β

Some of the smaller kids heard their father crying, so they went over to check on him. "Why're you crying, Daddy?" Linda asked, hugging his leg.Β

Ratigan scooped her up and sat her on his knee. "It just too soon." He sniffed back a tear. "She was your size what seemed like yesterday. It makes me a little sad to watch my children grow up so quickly." He explained the best he could.Β

Linda looked sad. "I miss Dani."Β
"Me too," Vern squeaked. Roddy and Mina both looked like they were going to cry as well.Β
