Description This is a sketch of the evolution of the Outcaste soldiers from their predecessors in the Imperial Guard to their current form. From left to right:

Scipio Liberators - Imperial Guardsmen from the hive world of Scipio. After the First War of Scipio, the Liberators were formed as a basic Guard regiment to help defend their sector of space, where xenos armies were growing more dangerous and more powerful. They earned their name and notoriety under Rain Kryze, a commander who led them to victory against the Tyranids in the War for Ardost. The Liberators lasted until the Second War of Scipio, where they fought valiantly against the forces of Chaos, but defected to the Scipio rebels after the Imperium and Chaos destroyed most of their home and people in their war. When the Imperium declared an Exterminatus on Scipio, many Liberators, including Kryze, escaped into the Warp and joined Chaos.

Damned of Scipio - A cult of Chaos Undivided, the remnants of Scipio who joined Chaos after the destruction of their planet were placed under Kryze's command and aided Chaos in a number of battles around the galaxy. They were restructured under Kryze's plan to open up a new Warp rift in the Ultima Segmentum, and were integral to the establishment of the Outcastes. By the time of the story, most of their original members are gone, but the Damned of Scipio are still remembered as the precursors to the Outcaste military.

Outcaste Secutors - The Outcastes are a more organized Chaos cult, and specialize in developing advanced technology and maintaining an expertly regulated and organized military. While still small in territory and power, they are slowly growing stronger, and are being considered more threatening with every conquest.

As with the Secutors, most Outcaste soldier classes are named after Roman soldiers or gladiator classes. Secutors are the basic footsoldiers of the Outcastes and are their most populous citizen unit. I will probably release more sketches of other Outcaste units that will appear in the story.

---

This was fun to draw, mainly because I've never designed the precursors of the Outcaste soldiers before and it's cool to see how their army has evolved in style over time. The Liberators are more or less your run-of-the-mill Imperial Guard, while the Damned of Scipio are very vicious and full of hate towards the Empire that obliterated their homeworld. The Outcastes, however, are meant to be strikingly different from other forces, especially other Chaos units, but you'll get more of that as I release more sketches. Also, the zig-zag-mouth masks and helmets will be explained in the future. Just know that almost all Outcaste soldiers wear them.

Sounds alright, I guess. What are they all about?

Well, they worship all of the chaos gods as their lords and saviors. They worship eight gods of chaos instead of four, though im having trouble finding the eighth one. They seek to kill the emperor of mankind as oart of their leader's revenge against the imperium for destroying his homeworld of Sheenob, a cardinal world. they do genetic engineering but i felt it would be plagiarism to use chaos-corrupted eldar for their troops like you did, so im thinking about beastmen for their genetic engineering program. And yes, they have chaotic abhumans as well as chaos-worshipping xenos in their ranks

Beastmen are an underused people in 40k, so that's be cool to see more of. What gods besides the main 4 do you already have for them?

One is based on the Great Old Rat that the skaven worship in Warhammer Fantasy. The other two are from a couple 40k fans i admire. Im having trouble finding the fourth on to be worshiped
