Description "... but the worst of the invasion came with those little metal... things. Like daemons they swarmed across the field. When one broke through our fire, it began gnawing on the nearest guardsman it could find. I could hear the crackle of his bones and the grinding of his flesh, like it was slowly cutting through him with a saw. We couldn't help him, though. More of them broke through, like a storm of iron spiders. We were expecting melee combat, but then it just got worse. A nearby platoon kept trying to shoot one down, but it got into their foxhole and... exploded! It was a deafening, blinding force, stronger than most explosives I had seen. We didn't stand a chance."

- from the debriefing of the Mornock V Imperial Guard regiment.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Introducing Creepers, one of the most populous robot drones used by the Outcastes. Creepers flood battlefields in massive swarms, clawing and gnawing their way through enemies. This is, however, only their secondary purpose. Whereas Legionaries and Strafers (which will be uploaded later) serve as tar pits against the enemy advance and as massive hordes of suppressive fire units, Creepers prioritize seeking out the destruction of important targets as suicide bombers.

All Creepers a loaded with high explosives, and are deployed in the hundreds of thousands across battlefields. They are as durable as Legionaries, but have better reflexes and better movement speed. When they get to an enemy, they quickly judge its value and either try to gnaw at it with their grinder mouths (if they aren't worth blowing up, like most basic infantry) or bomb it to smithereens (more powerful enemies, important targets, or well-defended positions). Like all other drones, they can be remote-controlled by Outcastes from auxiliary bases.

Creepers pack enough sheer explosive power to cripple almost anything in about one shot. They are the bane of almost all of the enemies of Chaos in the Gilranth Sector, and are probably the dirtiest tactic the Outcastes have up their sleeves. A Creeper explosion can usually kill an average Space Marine in one blast, and can usually cripple vehicles the size of Rhino transports in one shot as well. In case more power is needed, it's a good thing there are always reserves of them for more explosions.

Creepers are about as durable as Legionaries (slightly more than the average Imperial Guardsman), but are very short (only about 2 1/2 feet long and 1 1/2 feet high). They are, however, very quick-witted and reflexive. Their suicide bombing is their only important attribute, as while their grinder mandibles are potent, they need to get very close to someone to use melee attacks, making it moot if they get shot down first. Creepers work extremely well in combined arms approaches, as ranged units can distract enemy targets with suppressive fire while Creepers sneak in for their bombings. Creepers are also used in special operations and stealth bombings, especially in conjunction with Penetrators and Lurkers (will both be uploaded later), which can sneak them behind enemy lines and into important positions for sabotaging enemies or just causing as much chaos as possible.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here's the second Outcaste drone to be uploaded (be aware, there are quite a few left). First, I'd like to say that there's a funny story behind why I named them Creepers, but to keep this sporting, this counts as a pop-culture reference. The first person who identifies it will get a giftart, as is my new policy.

Otherwise, I consider Creepers the ultimate dick-move of the Outcastes. Picture thousands of these short metal spiders running up to enemy lines and then violently exploding en masse. As I may have mentioned before, the Outcastes fight dirty, like, extremely unfairly. In their defense, they have to. Space Marines are tougher than them, 'Nids, Orks, and the Imperial Guard are all more numerous than them, and Eldar and Necrons have better technology than them. If they didn't fight dirty, they'd probably lose every battle. On the other hand, can anyone really fight "fairly" in 40k?

Anyway, I like Creepers. Hopefully I'll upload some of the others soon, as well as some of the non-drone units the Outcastes and Blood Scarves employ.
