FYI; I did realize how the canon origins of the Worm would conflict with it being a splinter faction from the league of assassins, especially it BEING a longago experiment on this template, but there is one, two ideas on how it could work in the DrawVerse

Bascially the League of Assassins are one of the few secret organizations that would form the splinter group the Worm back in the ancient past, namely a few who disagreed with Head of the Demon Ra's Al Ghul on how his organization, let alone methods are done back when he was still starting, in fact, some of these former assassins believed he wasn't thinking far enough due to their own lazarus experience, this would lead these renegade assassins, along with other factions such as the Hand, the Foot and even Ra's own league of shadows or even other Gotham groups to band together, splintering away from their former groups to form the worldwide and dangerous group, the Worm, a group who has access to all their former group's technology, magic and weapons for cloning or reviving dead members....and while it was seen as a "pest" by the likes of Ra, thinking the several splinter members would fight among themselves....he was DEAD wrong when the Worm seems to have a stronger poison than ever before, more so to take on the league of assassins....and even inflitrate them as well.

The Worm may slithered from various assassin groups, but like the ritual the initatives go by....it's clear their bite stings worst to even scare the head of the demon....after all, while others do it in the shadows, the Worms are not afraid to die out in the open.
