Hey guys! I hope winter has been treating you all better than it has been me- if it hasn't, then wrap up and grab a hot cup of hot chocolate for me and stay warm
My apologies for not announcing last month's events, and details on our Armageddon stall (that's in another journal 
) as life and health issues have hit me hard over the last 2 or more months. I'm hoping now that those issues are all over and I can get back to presenting cool art stuff as I hear about them 
Drawfest August 2014
Date:- Sunday, 31st August 2014
Location:- Hum Salon, 123 Grafton Road, Auckland
Time:- starts at 12pm
Bring a friend, bring your art, comic, craft, writing... what ever creative tools you have, bring them along and hangout with other like minded Aucklanders, and swap war stories or what not! All forms of art are welcome, and all skill levels. Located at Hum Salon, our new regular location, there's TONES of room, and the building is a beautiful historic building that they're currently restoring back to it's full luster, and it looks amazing already! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for all!
Please note- bringing a friend is not required, but recommended for the youth members as it can make adjusting to the group much easier
Please note me if you have any special needs that I should help cater for. We do have members of Auckland Drawfest who have special needs such as being deaf, I'll try my best to accommodate you. Please don't feel held back from joining in the funPlease note that this is a cash only venue- there are bakeries nearby though! And if you have some spare change, please consider donating towards the renovation of this gorgeous historic building

Location:- The Wine Cellar, St Kevin's Arcade, 183 Karangagape Road.
Time:- starts at 7pm
Dr. Sketchy Auckland presents Silent (Hill) Nurse
Oh hello, nurse. I'm not feeling very well, do you think OH! Oh dear! You seem to have lost…. your face….
Let's get out the dirty bandages & oil up our meat cleavers sketchers, because Nurse is here to separate your necessities from your unmentionables.
MC & parasite-carrier Lilly Loca is back with more cult murmurings to revive your hidden smut fiend!
Bring your favourite tools: pens, paper, pencils, crayons, glue, cameras and/or finger paint. Dr. Sketchy is open to anyone, regardless of creed, colour and artistic style.
$10 on the door to feed the model. Please note, we are becoming rather popular & as such, we recommend you come early to ensure a seat!

Everything comic, manga, anime, art, graphic novel, zine, j-culture, geeky, etc. related will be featured at LibraryCon, from artists who want to display their work, to comic writers, to zine makers, to geeky crafters selling ingenious creations, to comic related merchandisers!

hehe I ended being okay ~ it was the -not eating- that buggered me up considerably. REALLY should've packed a lunch >.>;.
But in the end it was worth it - once I had my game face on I got through those Homestuck Troll OCs in no time XD
Once I get into the energy and flow of doing commissions - I like to keep it going cause I know the moment I stopped,
it be really hard to get into again o~o;.

I know his feels- I've been struggling to keep up with online Drawfest with organising life + the stall + once monthly visits + the Facebook page + the Deviantart page + SOMEHOW DRAWING OH GODS WHEN DO I GET TIME?!
Now I have Pokemon Y. This is not good. My free time is non existent >.<

I get the need for people to change their name, but the problem is the mass of new names I need to remember and well... I hadn't spotted the new name at the time and struggled to remember the spelling of the old one so... TuT I just have big difficulty with people that change their name and avatar a lot. Tumblr does it for free which is really frustrating T.T

Since I'm even out of university now, that was many, many years ago

Totally. IT's easy to assume it's still at Pullmans cause it's been there since Day one, and it's not as if the ASB Stadium is close to town. I hope the new venue is a success. It's a good venue. It's where we hold Battlecry. I think they're using the big hall

When they first announced a change in venue I was like OMG It's gonna be at the aotea centre! Especially since Chroma con did so well there, but hopefully where it is is good, I'm just worried that without enough people knowing it won't get enough traffic.
But more space will def be good

Apparently events happen in Hamilton- I'm not sure who organises theme though. There's certainly an Armageddon Drawfest table in Hamilton happens so it's worth sticking around

They sure do! I put it off for a couple of months cause Armageddon whacked the heck out of my energy levels, and then I went into a weird depression thing and found out that it was caused by drinking too much coffee and lack of sleep. I just come off my anti coffee pills, and I have to watch my sleeping patterns so I dont' go back to it, but I'm getting better. Miriam coming to the Drawfests has been a HUGE help to me emotionally though. Knowing that I have atleast her there makes the whole process fun and I don't noticed the stress. It's been really good.

oh yay! Good that you have a companion to bring along to those - you're doing really well! I hope to assist in organising Drawfests in Wellington once I've come back from my overseas trip in January. I think Nai is hosting one in December but you'll have to ask her about that.
