I normally don't do stuff like this anymore (Incorporate screencaps or pictures into my art) But I'm making an exception this time.I'm not exactly sure why, but I am SUPER excited for the upcoming Lego movie that's going to hitting theaters February 2014. I first saw a trailer of it when I went to see Monsters University a while back, and it looks like it's going to be so much fun! I'm honestly hoping to see it in the theater when it does come out. Until then, I can focus on stuff like college...
*UPDATE*: Well, time sure flies, doesn't it? The waiting is over (for most that is), for this movie has now hit theaters! Hopefully, I'll soon be able to go see it...

I actually think it would be cooler if they released it closer to the holidays. I remember last year, I saw Wreck-It Ralph in the theaters in November, and it felt like the perfect time to come out. I'm still really looking forward to it, but I thought i'd mention it.

Actually, it's CGI made to resemble stop motion, mixed with actual stop motion. According to the original announcement, there's also apparently going to be live action, too.

Really? They all move like stop-motion, while their faces move like they're computerized.

I'm not sure myself, but here's how I think it works:
More complex parts, like action scenes/scenes involving special effects and possibly when the characters' faces get more expressive are done in CGI, while other, dare I say simpler scenes are done in stop motion, with replacement heads used for talking and face changes.
As for live action, I'm not even sure if they're still planning on using it or if it the idea was scrapped, but if they do, there might be live actor characters that would appear as gags or something along those lines.
