Thanks! Using the Canon 400mm prime, light seems to make a big difference in its ability to sharp focus.

I'm clearly not a bird watcher but it looks like a spotted towhee to me (I had to go look it up to make sure lol). I remember seeing one a while back, with pretty red eyes like this one. I dunno, I might be wrong, but either way, nice close capture on this one!

Thanks! it is a spotted towhee. I had another photo that had great detail and color of the same bird, but the eyes didn't show up as red as in this one. It is what makes this bird unique.

Very cool!  I totally agree, if it wasn't for the eyes I probably wouldn't have recognized it.
