I was starting to get the distinct impression that I was spending too much time drawing in OpenCanvas. Now, I'm not saying that there's anything particularly wrong with using OC (or anything else, for that matter), but I always tend to find that if I use the same medium or program for a prolonged period of time, my pictures gradually get more and more bland. I suppose I get too familiar with things and I kinda kick into autopilot or something.I also tried to draw Hope yesterday, but the picture ended up being irritatingly broken in several ways. I wanted to do a decent version of her, so I figured I'd try again.
To cut a long story short, I fired up Painter, scribbled in it a bit with one of the pencil tools, drew half of the picture before I realised that the pressure sensitivity had gone all nuts, eventually finished things off and then played around with the oil paints for a bit. My past attempts at using oil paints have been hilariously bad, so I'm relatively happy with how this one turned out.
I'll have to do it again sometime...
...but not too often

Yus, usually she has some kind of ribbon thing going on (although that's pretty variable too...), and the bits that hang down the sides of her face tend to stick up at the top more. Didn't seem to fit the style though, and Ria kinda has something similar, so I'm fiddling about a bit and having a rethink.
I'm sure there's other differences too... should've paid more attention X3

Well, for the hair, I just wanted to do something all flowy... and got kinda carried away :3
And I wasn't really thinking of armour, more some kind of nonsensical dress thing. I don't know. It's all very sketchy and vague really... maybe should've tidied it all up before I tried to colour XD
