Description Ok... So this is a less blunt stamp compared to my last "Not a Brony" Stamp. I can say I like this one more but I'm not taking down the other one no matter how many negative comments I get due to the description.

I will point this out though... I've had several people tell me that "Brony" is only male fans. This isn't true... Yes I know that the female term is "Pegasister" but I learned that some female fans don't like "Pegasister" and would rather "Brony"... so there ARE female fans who call themselves "Bronies", and I have actually been told by someone that those fans are wrong... No they are not. Because of this... and no I'm not defending the term Brony... I'm just setting facts straight... Before the term pegasister was use, what do you think female fans called themselves? They'd have to have called themselves bronies till some group thought of pegasister. So, no you cannot argue that the term is male only... That's like arguing the word Man being for male only when in some terminology Man is use for both male and female

In any case... I'm not a Brony or Pegasister... I'm just a pony fan and have been for years... both cartoon ponies and real life ponies/horses

According to some G1 folks there was a term for some fans back in the 80's.. I think Pony Moms for the mothers of kids who wanted MLPs and also collected them too.
But as far as labeling goes, it's one of those weird things that people need a term to identify with.. I guess it's away to shorten having to say 'such and such fan'.. In other words.. I really don't know XD

I have grown up with pretty much all the Generations (my relatives kept onto the old videos and their old toys and gave them to me to have) and only recently, well, actually a couple of months ago, I found myself enjoying the series. It just made me feel, really happy getting to watch Ponies again. I just like all the series. c: I don't really consider myself a Pegasister, or a Brony. I don't really mind if if get called either anyway.

Before G4, a female MLP fan was call Pegasis and male was called a Big Brother Pony (Like some of the male ponies in the toy line). At least thats what I heard. Anyway, I love the description for this stamp. I'm glad this isn't another,"IM NOT A BRONY, BRONIES R AWFUL!!!" stamp. I'm a brony but I've always had a strange admiration for the past generations even before FiM. It's nice to see stamps like this instead the usual "BRONIES AREN'T REAL MLP FAN, THEY'RE A BUNCH OF PHONIES!".

I've never heard those terms applied.

DreamCrystalArt In reply to K1337NESS [2013-12-07 03:57:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I'm aware of the Big Brother title for males back before G4 XD Didn't know about Pegasis though... don't like that term either (despite the fact I like Pegasi)

I do have a "Not a Brony" type stamp as well, that apparently more people like.. I might take it down now after I had revised the description on it once... I made it on a whim because I was getting irritated that people insisted many of us who like MLPs are Bronies... I had to correct people at work and explain the term to them while I was at it..

anyway I'm glad this one still gets the message across (well I don't know how many people actually understand it), but I think I will make a stamp for all gens (even the unliked G3.5s XD)

K1337NESS In reply to DreamCrystalArt [2013-12-18 02:58:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I don't really like the term "Pegasis" either, it sound like a horrible pun.(why do the male fans get all the good names... >_>) I have seen the other stamp but I think this one gets the point across better. I admire how you didn't go the "WE ARE THE SUPERIOR FANS!" route with both stamp or go too far and tried to make bronies look like the worst thing ever. As for G3.5, I've seen some bronies who like it as more of a guilty pleasure.(myself included) From what I've seen it's not really hated as much as it seems, there's still a lot of fan art for G3 ponies in G4 style.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DreamCrystalArt In reply to K1337NESS [2013-12-18 03:17:37 +0000 UTC]

G3.5s got a bad rap because of the style they were made in as well as the show... the toys barely lasted a year at that though there are people from all the mlp communities that like them.

I actually noticed that sd-dreamcrystal.deviantart.com… gets more faves between the two stamps and I'm considering taking it down as the other one is more positive. It's not bad but some people kind of might take it the wrong way anyway

*hugs tightly* I love you TuT Β

i still prefer the G1 style, I like it the most it has that tinge of realism in it while still looking cartooney, some real life ponies are round and chubby looking too. So yeah that's why I like it XD same goes for the G2 style, they look taller and more regal, like horses :3 I like the G3 style too, least before it went all chibi-anime style, I don't dislike g4 but the art style just no :c it doesn't fit mlp in my opinionΒ

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DreamCrystalArt In reply to Primaltimediamond [2013-09-18 03:20:53 +0000 UTC]

Lol yeah G1 was more Pony than the current. I'm not a fan of the art style for G4 myself

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Primaltimediamond In reply to DreamCrystalArt [2013-09-18 10:23:48 +0000 UTC]

sadly many disagree they think the g1 ponies are"ugly" and "fat" Β but sadly I get yelled yet for saying that I dislike the g4 art style I just don't think it's "cute" or "pretty" Β the princesses look good though and Fleur de lis or however you write it, they should've made all the ponies tall like thatΒ

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DreamCrystalArt In reply to Primaltimediamond [2013-09-18 23:48:41 +0000 UTC]

Those who call G1 'ugly and fat' at those who either never grew up with that gen or those who did but had no interest in ponies back then.

And then there are those who seen both and admit they hate the G4 style and prefer the G1 style.

I'm not fond of some of the trait of the G4 princesses.

DerpMind [2013-04-07 01:35:46 +0000 UTC]

Ugh, the main problem I have with this is that "brony" means nothing more than than fan of the show, and morons are trying to twist the definition up.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

DerpMind In reply to DerpMind [2013-04-07 07:29:19 +0000 UTC]

I see. From your gallery I did know that you were more of a previous generation fan, I'm gonna take a guess and say you are from MLP arena? Anyway, I'm just depressed with all the hate for the MLP fandom, and it's starting to cause me to become more vocal...

Generally I keep to myself and silently appreciate all of the great content the fandom produces, but seeing all of this on deviantART is rather jarring.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

DreamCrystalArt In reply to DerpMind [2013-04-07 03:37:59 +0000 UTC]

The original meaning was for male mlp fans of FIM.. however, it doesn't matter how interprets the meaning of 'brony', many of us just do not wish to be called or be associated at bronies for more than one reason.

Personally I HATE the term all together and I'm just a fan of MLP and a collector but I'm not a brony as the only thing I have to do with FIM is buying the toys which is stopping soon.

The stamp has more than one meaning though. Would you call someone who loves real life ponies/horses bronies? Granted I used G1 MLP art but the meaning is for more than one thing

I'm not saying everyone will agree with this stamp, and those who don't are not forced to look at it or anything

And for the record, even bronies twist up the meaning, and calling everyone who has a different meaning for the term means you are also calling yourself a moron

Thank you for this stamp! I think this is by far the best one I’ve seen. I really like what it says and how it’s said.

I’ve been a MLP fan ever since I was a kid (grew up with G1). So I get really annoyed when people refer to ALL fans as β€˜bronies’ now since the release of FiM. Don’t get me wrong. If some fans wish to call themselves that, it’s fine with me. But I, for one, do not want to be called a brony OR a pegasister, because I’m not one. I did not become a fan via FiM. And I do not wish to be associated with the fanbase and fan groups that normally fall under β€˜brony’ because of the way most of them act towards other fans. I was a MLP fan waaaaaay before these terms were created and waaaaay before FiM even existed. And I’d still rather be called a β€˜fan’.

It also greatly annoys me how some will argue that you aren’t a MLP fan unless you label yourself a brony or pegasister. It’s really kinda stupid and pathetic how far all of this β€˜brony’ stuff has gone. If being called a β€˜brony’ makes you a fan, then I guess us older fans were never fans? The logic some have on this is really twisted.

DreamCrystalArt In reply to WindChimeGhost [2012-12-21 04:06:25 +0000 UTC]

to this

as far as how some will argue about you not being an mlp fan if not labeled as a Brony/Pegasister... i remember someone on MLP Arena with that story that their friend found out they didn't call themselves a Brony/Pegasister and pretty much didn't want to talk ponies with them any more because of that

I've had people argue to me that no matter what you deny, you are a brony... which I highly disagree with that myself because I'm not a brony

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WindChimeGhost In reply to DreamCrystalArt [2013-01-08 20:10:42 +0000 UTC]

Ugh that's awful. That's partly the reason why I refuse to be called a brony/pegasister. I think the main problem is that a lot of people these days have lost sight of what it means to be a fan of something. Titles and labels do not automatically make you a fan. Loving, enjoying, and being devoted to what you love is what makes you a fan. The titles (like brony) are just there for whoever wants to use them. If you refuse to use them then it doesn't make you any less of a fan.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DreamCrystalArt In reply to WindChimeGhost [2013-01-08 20:26:52 +0000 UTC]

I think that is true of a lot of fandoms... as far as titles are concerned.

Thankfully after I made this stamp (which is a tone down to my last one on the same issue), I haven't had any problems with people arguing the brony thing... I think and hope for the most part those issues have died down

*gasp* G1 MLP?!!?!?!?!?!?! I can't believe it! Since when does dA have G1 MLP art?!?!?!?!

I'm kidding with that one. I'm sorry. It just seems like G1 MLP's done in G1 style is practically extinct. Just for the record, I'm a G1 pony girl, and I will always be a G1 pony girl. I don't really like G4 (better go get my suit of armor and prepare for those insane fans out there who'll want to kill me for daring to say that). Of course, I usually only use the terms "Brony" and "Pegasister" in regards to the fans of G4. And for the fans that get bent out of shape just for not liking FiM, I use "Insane Brony" or "Insane Pegasister."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

LittleKunai In reply to FluidGirl82 [2016-02-25 21:21:39 +0000 UTC]

Those types of "fans" can calm themselves down then. It kind of confuses me how some of them act as if they were the first or only ones who matter. As if there weren't three generations of fans before them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

DreamCrystalArt In reply to FluidGirl82 [2012-10-01 21:10:58 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I will admit I didn't do the actual pony art but rather got it from a G1 backcard. There are actually a lot of people out there who don't like the FiM style art and the fact it has flooded the internet. I only use those two terms myself in regard to the fans to but I'll never bluntly call someone one of them unless they truly are those.

So far I have not had any FiM fans come to this stamp and bash it like my other not a brony stamp. A lot of them don't seem to get the point that many of us wish not to be grouped in their fandom.

FluidGirl82 In reply to DreamCrystalArt [2012-10-01 21:31:03 +0000 UTC]

I recognized them from the backcards actually, but still, hardly anyone uses the G1 ponies in G1 style, anyway. I've seen G1 ponies on dA, but mostly in G4 style.
