Description Edit: The word spaze animation may be off at first on firefox but it will straighten out on it's own.. I don't have Image Ready so I make due with how to animate in Elements

Just had to do this. I keep hearing a lot of things and I just want to clarify...

Yes I watch the show...
Yes I buy the toys...
Yes like MLPs and draw them...
I collect them...
Make customs...

BUT I am in no form, shape, or manner a BRONY! I personally HATE the term!

Edit: I'm going to clarify something guys. When I first wrote this, yes I was irate and whatnot.. so taking down -part- of the original desc.

I'm also going to clarify that since I made this stamp, yes I've met bronies irl (even though it was just two of them and one actually had a medical condition so I can't fault him on any level and this is probably one of the main reasons I'm changing the desc).

However, my mind is still set. I AM NOT A BRONY AND DO NOT WISH TO BE CLASSIFIED AS ONE. As stated a while back.... Just because I watch the show doesn't mean I am a brony! Like I said before, I've been a fan of Ponies long before FiM and honestly that includes real life ponies... not just the colorful cartoony ones.

Edit: Shutting comments off... should have done this the first time. Only shutting them off so my emotions don't run high and affect what I type. Which does happen.

Well no actually...
Im just saying a brony is any fan of the show who is not a little girl of like 5 years old... You don't have to meet other bronies, join brony groups, buy brony merchandise, or use brony slang/terminology. A brony does not have to be involved in the community in any way. Thats fine and your preferences on the matter are up to you. However, you are still one of us because all it takes to make you a brony, is appreciating the awesomeness of the show. You don't have to take it further than that.

You might be using the word "brony" wrong, or maybe you're believing some or all of the false judgements about us. If you knew what a true brony was, you would be proud to be one. I don't like it when any individual or group is misjudged and looked down on - unless they are actually doing something wrong, like hurting people... Bronies are the opposite of that though, if you took time to look up actual statistics and the results of scientific research done into the matter, you would see that in general bronies are way more kind, selfless, understanding, and friendly than non-bronies (I said in general, remember). Also, bronies have a much higher percentage of asexual people, meaning on the whole we are less perverted than non-bronies.

You may not be involved in our culture in any way other than liking an awesome show, but thats enough. Thats all you have to do. You don't have to go around wearing pony t-shirts and saying "hey guys, look at me, Im a brony!" all you have to do is enjoy the show, thats what truly matters. However, if you did ever decide to meet other bronies, you will make some of the nicest friends in the world, trust me.

To be honest, that first part you stated is wrong too. There are several of us who like the show but who are not out right fans.

Yes I like the show, yes I watch it, but it still doesn't make me a Brony. I was a MLP Fan long before FiM and Brony came out and never had to use a term other than fan to define myself. Yes I've met bronies irl too and found that some internet bronies are worse than irl bronies.

Look, I know not all bronies are bad, but I just do not wish to be defined by that term. I just really dislike the term (I'm holding back on using the word hate here) and see no point in me calling myself one when I'm not

I agree with the stamp Although I might have slightly different view on bronies ( I only donΒ΄t like those who clopps and are pervy). Sadly, the community became even worse - so I gave my pawns off it. And iΒ΄m not a brony. I only wanted to chill out during watching it and I used to watch G1 a Tales when I was A LOT younger And IΒ΄m horse person, so it explains it too xD

lol I seem to get both good and bad comments on this stamp.. depending on who reads it and depending on if they agree with what I posted. I'm too lazy at the moment to change the info stuff I place in the description so maybe later XD

Hating the older generations has absolutely nothing to do with being a brony. Do you actually consider the wiki page to be a reliable source of information? Most bronies appreciate the older ones except for Gen 3.

I really dislike this misconception that bronies are the extremists of the MLP fandom.

DreamCrystalArt In reply to ShnarfBird [2012-08-12 01:55:43 +0000 UTC]

That depends on who you are talking to.... but misconception can work both ways

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ShnarfBird In reply to DreamCrystalArt [2012-08-12 02:00:56 +0000 UTC]

Because it means "Male MLP fan" not "Extremist of the MLP fandom"
...
what do you mean

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DreamCrystalArt In reply to ShnarfBird [2012-08-12 02:25:41 +0000 UTC]

Some Females have told me they call themselves bronies. And what I mean is misconception can work in more ways than one. You say that there is a misconception of bronies being 'extremist' however that can be a misconception in and of itself. So basically it can be viewed both ways and thus any opinion from either side can be viewed as a misconception...

ShnarfBird In reply to DreamCrystalArt [2012-08-12 02:39:57 +0000 UTC]

Bronies are simply male fans of the show.
How am I incorrect when I say so?

DreamCrystalArt In reply to ShnarfBird [2012-08-12 02:44:53 +0000 UTC]

Not true, like I said some females call themselves bronies. So see you are correct and also incorrect. In either case, I've made my point and I'm done with this conversation. Good day

I grew up with the G1s, so I lean more towards them... especially the toys because there is why more variety in poses over the G4 toys

I only really like Friendship is Magic, considering I'm a guy and all, but I despise the fandom. Their actions, shippings, creations, ridiculous ideals... it's so frustrating. I myself have considering rescinding my status as a brony, but I haven't thought of another term I could apply for myself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DreamCrystalArt In reply to GamziMakr [2012-07-14 17:42:47 +0000 UTC]

How about just Fan? I mean the term 'brony' wasn't used till G4, same with the female variant 'pegasister' which was invented by female fans who didn't want to use the male term I believe... which I'm neither of those. A fan doesn't really need a special term to associate with what they love

Indolent-Doodle [2012-07-09 00:47:40 +0000 UTC]

HOLY CRAP.

THANK YOU.

Seeing as I'm only thirteen I never actually "grew up" with the old gens of MLP but I still watched it when I was a little girl. Not often, but from time to time my parents would rent a movie of it (from gen one) and I loved every second of it. I also had a few toys even. Even when I was ten I actually found I really liked this coloring book for gen three. It was so much fun. I love gen four as well, and although that's my favorite, one, two and three I'll always love as well because I watched those as well.

And I also hate being called a "brony" or "pegasister". I could care less if someone else calls themselves that but I don't like it when they call me one. I prefer to just be called a big fan, thanks.

I'm really starting to dislike the word "brony" too. I don't mind when others call themselves that, they're free to do so. But don't call me a brony (or a pegasister) when I don't want to be labeled as one. "Fan" is just fine.

I agree 110% . I’ve been into MLP since the 80s, I love all generations, I’ve been collecting the toys since I was a kid, I’ve made a few customs, I enjoy drawing fan art, etc. But I am in NO way a Brony. I’m not even a guy for that matter. And I hate it when people consider ALL MLP fans to be Bronies or force them to be. And, yes, I too hate the term. Don’t get me wrong, though. If some fans prefer to call themselves that, then it’s their business. I’m not gonna stop them. But us older fans just don’t care to be called that, or I don’t anyway. Same with Pegasister, which I believe is the term used for female FiM fanatics now.

And for those who have commented before me and said that the term β€˜brony’ applies to anyone who’s a MLP fan. No, you are wrong. A lot of us older fans and 80s kids were fans of MLP before the FiM series came out. And the terms β€˜brony’ and β€˜pegasister’ were invented shortly after the release of FiM and mostly apply to fans that ardently follow that series and that series alone, unless, of course, you choose to call yourself that. So, no, these terms do NOT apply to everyone who likes MLP or don’t have to if the person chooses not to be called by them. There's no law saying you have to call yourself a brony or pegasister if you like MLP. Sorry to burst your bubble. For those who might not be aware of it: Back in my day, MLP collectors/fans were called β€˜MLP Mommies’ (this was commonly a fan term for the girl fans) or simply just β€˜fans’ or β€˜pony fans’. And that’s what I prefer to be called. And the term β€˜MLP Mommy’ was actually invented by Hasbro.

I wonder Whhyy *Quivers in disgust* But I perfer Brony More or less :/ One time my friend said I was obsessed with MLP: FIM but Im NOT!!! If I were obsessed I'd have the entire collection of mlp related anything...But most of it would consist of Rainbow Dash collectibles BUT Im not mlp creeps i just have a passion for it. *snorts* Ponies and shotguns, yep. Well I can say just because someone watched the show and/or collects the toys, doesn't make them obsessed. Obsessed people go far beyond that... like to the point where they have Rainbow Dash painted on their car and so on
