at LAST, behold, jamie's waifu lady!!
I always knew he'd get with some centaur lady he'd have kids with but was kinda surprised he found someone so different from himself :')
this one's been in the works for a while, since like march I think
I really wanted a donkey-ish centaur as well as one with prosthetics for a long time, and initially was thinking emil's brother alastair would, but she showed up and it fits way better so I dunno if he still will or not haha

this is the nipless version so I can retain the thumbnail in my galleries - full one over hereee
(but if you wanna draw her shirtless but without visible nops that's okay too)

her story's super political so if you don't like you should stop reading and probably leave lol
also it's a textbomb and a half OH BOY

adira grew up kinda poor in america somewhere, so when the recruiters came along to her high school promising excellent pay to pull them out of poverty as well as free education, many kids jumped at the chance, her included. her fam encouraged her, seeing it as a respectable job choice that would take her places, hardly expecting the unthinkables to happen.
and happen they did - a mere few months into her deployment, and one single misplaced step, and she never again got to feel her right arm or leg.

as she lay in the hospital month, week after week, month after month, each passing day that might bring hope and thankfulness to others only festered more anger in her heart - anger at her own country, for sending off innocent young souls who just wanted to make a difference or make something more of themselves to brutal and unnecessary trauma such as this. as she came to understand more and more the sickening history the US has with war, the culture surrounding it, the fact that the value and investment in fighting vastly outweighed that of its own people's healthcare, driven home by how much she had to pay out of pocket for her own recovery, eventual prosthetics, and the breast cancer that ruthlessly attacked her so soon after the precious injury, her plans grew to get out of dodge as quick as she possibly could, and never look back.

her chance came when she was accepted to a school in ontario. as much as she loved and would miss her own family and friends, a complete change of atmosphere in a country she could say she at all trusted, with free healthcare and nearly no shootings, felt like exactly what she needed, and off she flew to a brand new start. she wasn't even sure at first what her end goal would be, just that starting the immigration process as a student seemed inviting. but she came to befriend a certain wonderful, charming, kind classmate, realized that those feelings were more than she'd bargained for, realized that he felt the same way too, and before she knew it found herself in a super happy fulfilling relationship :') that someone was jamie, just starting school to become a teacher, and through him discovered that she would love to become one too: a good career with benefits that would give her more of a purpose in life, one meant to build people up, and never harm.

and that's how a few years later she became a gym teacher at the same public school her hubbie was a biology one :𝔻
it never got old surprising classes with the fact that two of their favourite teachers were married, haha

and this newfound love for kids manifested years later still, when the two become proud parents of two beautiful children ♥
(I'm very pumped to draw them at some point - they kinda look like zonkies, with stripey limbs and their mother's fur colour >u>)

some other things:

•• she's found herself attracted to girls sometimes but could never see herself in an actual relationship with one, so she just calls herself 'straight' or 'straight-ish'

• she has the centaur version of PCOS, meaning she has more masculine hormones than average, which partially accounts for her tomboyishness and fur stripe down her back, which is typically a more masculine trait

• she's one of my buffest characters, works out daily, and is very competitive so enjoys training with others to push herself further, including jamie, though he often has to remind her to take it easy and not wreck herself haha

• her fur is similar to a donkey's, is very soft, and is shorter on her torso and face

• she has multiple different prosthetics for different tasks, but rather than show them all here I'm perfectly fine with liberty being taken with them (this guy's got a super cool vid on different alternatives he wears, to show off how diff they can be), or if they're too difficult to draw you can just draw her without them as well - she frequently just goes without

• she only has one main leg, however, which is meant to be useful for exercise and load-bearing rather than the more cosmetic ones that try to emulate the appearance of a whole leg (fun fact these are nearly always completely custom-made, to match size and fur colours and whatnot)

• her dominant hand was her right one, but with enough practice her brain has rewired well enough for her to write okay with her left one

• her fur's never gonna grow back where those brutal scars are. the skin is still kind of tender and numb and feels funny when touched, due to the nerves there being burnt away at the initial landmine explosion

• her organs were also damaged, but thankfully her lungs and hearts were fine and she's healed very well

• she avoids politics as much as she can because it does nothing but piss her off more and make her feel so helpless since she doesn't feel she can do anything to fix the situations (besides donate to things sometimes and educate her classes on things)

• she's kind of standoffish before you get to know her. jamie found her very interesting and was extremely patient, and her own interest in him led to her opening up faster than she might have normally

• she never really felt too big on faith but after discussing jamie's a lot with him, seeing how joyful and peaceful it makes him feel, she came to respect it more, and begins to experience her own personal kind of spirituality too, which helps her move through her lingering traumas (meditation is a big help especially, and she also starts doing yoga)

• jamie likes to always remind her that she's perfectly whole and wonderful regardless of any missing limbs or any glaring scars or the fact that she doesn't always feel like quite enough for him because she admires and respects and loves him so much :')

ps she becomes fast friends with her sister in law, jesse, and their kids get super close too, and they all think it's kinda funny that both brothers ended up marrying badass grey girls lmao

and a lil part where he like affirms her always being 'enough', even when she feels like she doesn't show her love as earnestly as openly as he does (she do, just in a different way than him and he's a-okay with that)

That despite putting my entire life on the line for the damn country, they wouldn’t even bother covering all my medical shit, not when I had to deal with cancer, or the injuries from the stupid deployment itself, let alone these prosthetics that cost a shit-load out of pocket? Fuck the US.”
