Hey, I've got to ask (if you don't mind) .. the subtle colours people use on the faces of these things, I read somewhere that it's make-up?! o.O .. is that the case? .. and if so is it just literally normal make-up? .. these kind of dolls are quite different to the ones I make yet I still think it would be useful to learn more about it as some of the effects are stunning

Hi,
Oh it's not make-up people just called face painting as faceup in BJD community. it's actually a grounded soft pastel color and then brushed on the doll face like when You use normal blush-on. to make the color stay there we use matte color fixative spray. I hope You find this information useful

Hi! Thanks very much for that, that's very informative! ... wow.. ground pastels eh? Fixed with a spray? that's fascinating, thanks very much!!

U're welcome,
Yes ground pastel and a matte spray finish.
that can give You smooth color that almost looks like airbrush painting.

wow, he's so tiny
is it harder to make bdjs this small than the others?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DreamHighStudio In reply to VisualLoKi [2010-04-17 17:38:35 +0000 UTC]

Hi, yes it's a little bit tricky to sculpt BJD that small.

the main problem is in the joint system, fragility, and it has to be able to be produce (OOAK will be easier)

oh well but i have to finish what i've started
