Description Self portrait for my "Understanding Form and Function" class. (scientific illustration program)
I really like how this picture seems like she wants you to follow her.

Based off a photo taken of me by ~pyrojuggler
Go check out his photos! They don't get the recognition they deserve! (And there's sessy pictures of me there!)

Sarah,

Beautiful work on this! The photo may be nice but your pencil work has taken this image a completely new direction. I like how you handled the light filtering in on the wall. And the softness of your hair and skin is a nice contrast to your surroundings.

You look like a free spirit...nice to meet you, where are you headed and can we tag along?

really a stunning piece of work. The detail and the perfection of the portrait is simply amazing. Indeed if I am ever in need of a portraiture artist, you have the very first name on my list of desirable artists to commission.

Makes you want to see what's ahead. Great piece!

Very, very cool, and i love the perspective point. Somebody or other (Probably other LoL) once said that if you pin the exact center of a picture, it will have great symbolism of the whole image.
But... In this case thats... Brick... Oh well, one theory down. Maybe they're special important bricks?
The only thing I didn't like is for whatever reason, her head and her neck don't seem to *go* together. Does that make any sense at all?
Love it,
Jessam

the detail and shading of the bricks (and the perspective) is absolutely incredible.
your skill level is insane... im honestly in awe. my only criticism (if you could even call it that) is that the grass/dirt doesnt look like the original in the photo... in fact, it looks better and even more interesting that the photo.

Awesome work! Definitely photorealistic, although I would only recommend you work on the mouth a bit more it doesn't match the photo that well.

Maybe it's because I just watched "Hostel," but it looks like she's leading the follower to something...how shall I say..."unexpected"...and not in the fun way.

Congrats on the DD, you 've earned it.

I would say that your more illustrative, naturalistic work is stronger thematically than the fantasy-anthro stuff.
You work very well from life, and I think this work that places a direct figure into an environmental context is your strong suite.
It would be great to see more like this, and even the croc. type image.

Subject + context = good work.

The brickwork on this is amazing, especially the fact that they're not all uniform and the same shape, but that you've obviously looked at each and every one of them individually: and got them perfect. The whole perspective, detail, everything is seriously amazing.

Well done: you really deserve that DD!
