Bio: Iolite, with her squad, was the top premier and explorer in Blue Diamond`s court. Every Diamond has a special group of gems for discovering the universe and new planets to build new colonies. Iolite`s job was to explore and map new corners of the universe to find new planets for Blue Diamond`s colonies. She and her squad mapped and logged the most promising planets for new colonies and sent the information back to Homeworld after making enough research. Iolite loved her job. She loves exploring and discovering new places and sharing those experiences with her squad. Iolite was the leader of her squad and they were her responsibility but also the closest thing she had to a family. They were all made together and have been inseparable since then. All five of the act as a group of sister but Iolite is often the brother of the group. She has always been more `manly` but she stills identifies as a female. But she will take it as a compliment to be called bro, man, dude, king, prince, a gentleman etc. They were pretty close and the best discovery they ever had was Earth, in their opinion. Oh, how wrong they were.
Blue Diamond was very close to Pink Diamond and when the first files of Earth started arriving at Homeworld, Blue Diamond decided that instead of building her own colony on Earth, she gave the planet to Pink Diamond as a gift to build her first colony there. But that didn`t go that well. During the Gem War, Iolite and her squad were forced to stop exploring and start searching and marking the rebels camps since they were the ones to map the planet and they knew the territory the best. The war raged on for years. During that time, Iolite saw a lot of violence, shattering, poofing and torture of thousands of gems. Even rushed Kindergartens just to have more soldiers. All of this chaos and violence awakened something in Iolite. She felt the rage and the need to hurt others more than ever before. Iolite was always a fighter but this was something new. At first, she was able to control it but then she snapped. When Pink Diamond was shattered, all the other Diamonds went into grief and were emotionally unstable, especially Blue Diamond. A short while later after Pink was gone, Iolite and her squad came to Blue Diamond to report their latest findings. But Blue snapped at them for finding this horrible planet and out of rage, shattered Iolite`s teammates/sisters right before her own eyes. That caused her to snap. She has no memory of what happened next.
When she formed again from her gem a few weeks later, she didn`t know what she did or how she got poofed. She also found her special logging communicator and her leader`s cape with her drifting in space. After that day, Iolite has been traveling and exploring the universe on her own, without any orders but out of her own desire to learn more about the world she lives in, at any level possible. She changed the diamond on her cape into a triangle, since that was the shape of her screens, and tied her hair back into a ponytail since she liked it looser but to also keep it out of her face when flying. Iolite never returned to Homeworld out of spite and rage against the Diamond who shattered her family. She also never returned to Earth because it was that planet and it`s humans that started this mess in the first place. Iolite is also aware of the darkness inside of her and she is afraid that a bad situation will trigger it again and the history will repeat itself. But she does let it show when fighting enemies she encounters by using her razor sharp wings to slice them up with sadistic glee and bloodlust that she actually loves.
But at the end of the day, Iolite will never actually attack Homeworld because centuries of loyalty doesn´t disappear that easily. All she can do is to travel and hope she can find a place to call a home again.

Ooooohhhh boooyyyyyyy, that was long. So here she is, my new gemsona Iolite. I started to kinda not like my previous gemsona and so I was back on Google, researching blue gems. I always knew that no matter what gem I use, it will be blue and Iolite was a perfect find for me. Iolites were used by vikings in mapping and traveling and these gems are used to spiritual travel and exploring, so this is where the premier part came from. Also, someone had to find the colony planets and map the galaxies for the Diamonds. Iolite is also called the Viking Stone, and vikings are called barbarians, so this is where the hidden bloodlust idea came from. I also like viking history, a lot. Also, this backstory could be considered my headcanon as to why Blue grieves Pink`s shattering after all this time. Not only did she loose someone who she deeply loved but it was partly her fault it happened. The gift she thought will bring the youngest Diamond joy brought her demise instead. And now Blue feels that partly it was her fault. If she just built her own colony on Earth, Rose Quartz would have never met humans and started the Gem War in the first place. Twisted, isn`t it?
