Hey guys!

So, way back in September-ish of last year, was holding a *secret* contest. The task was to create artwork based on the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, I believe) novels of both of her siblings, which she would then get printed with the novels themselves and present them to both of her siblings as a surprise for finishing NaNoWriMo 2008. All entrants will receive a sketch commission from Artoveli herself, at the very least (with the winners receiving digital painting commissions).

I was only able to submit one entry for I was too busy to do any more than that, and since Artoveli's sister's novel seemed to be getting a little more attention than her brother's, I chose to illustrate for the latter's novel.

I won't give you too much of a synopsis for it's very long (though engrossing), but I'll at least tell you who the characters are:

The Jack Black look-alike is Mr. Hyde (Dr. Jekyll not pictured here). The guy with the long, blond hair is Dr. Fredericks, and the crazy-looking fellow is Nicola Tesla. The masked nemesis framing the image of the bohemian roommates is "Opie" (short for "Magnum Opus," he is Frankenstein's monster, but a much smarter interpretation of him). Behind Opie is an army of robots.

Yeah, it's intriguing!

Anyway, the winner's haven't been announced yet, but I was really just happy to do something nice for someone I've known on DA for a while. It was such a cool cause! I couldn't help but enter.
