Hey folks!

So late last night, I sketched up a picture of Charlie and Magnus, the two main characters of my current comic project, for fun. I realized I had never actually drawn them in an image together, so I thought it was time.

I took the sketch into Illustrator and inked it, then exported the layered inks into Photoshop and spent all day today coloring it. The process was the same as this image: [link]

This isn't a cover for the comic, simply a piece of promotional art. I will probably use it to revamp the Charlie Dubai blog (which you can find here [link] and has been a little inactive lately, but that will change). I very much intend to have 11x17" prints made of it, as well.

I'm really enjoying digital painting! I hadn't been able to do it because I wasn't confident in my line art in Photoshop, but now that I realize I can use lines from Illustrator to good effect, I'm loving it! This is the stuff of extra-special images, like promotional art and covers and the like, and I'm glad to finally have more options available to me (and it certainly doesn't hurt that my new computer is actually able to let me digitally paint without chugging horrendously). I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot of this from me in the coming months.

And of course, needless to say, I couldn't really be happier with this image. It turned out exactly as I had hoped! So let's see...I have a cast picture of "The Duncan Button," and (more or less) for "Charlie Dubai." Now all I need is one for "The Quest for Love with Yoki Safari." ;D
