edit Mar 31, 08:seems there is a confused dA administrator running around my gallery re-categorizing photos of these WILD horses and putting them into the domesticated animal section. Oh well. Just in case you were wondering, these are not domesticated animals.....!

...the eastern shore of maryland. here, there were more wild horses on the beach than humans. and the horses were not a bit camera shy----quite the opposite----there were seeking out people with cameras and striking poses....

excellent shot. I love how the horse is just standing there and there are no other horses around. I also like the expression of the horse. Gives a lonesome look to me. Must have been an amazing experience! I would love to go there and photograph those horses, and I will some day.

Not true, my dear, this is how the national park raises money. When you enter the park, you have to pay 10 dollars extra in order to take fotos of the models, er, horses. The park security police cruise around on bicycles checking people with cameras to see if the paid. .....

did you bring them snacks or would they not get close enough? this had to be one of the best trips youve been on!

feeding, touching not allowed.........they've actually adapted to drinking brackish water, but there's not enough found to support more than a 130 or so.....they round them up once a year to keep the numbers low....(so i heard)...
it is a very strange experience to walk up a dune to get to the beach and then see a dozen horses lying about (yes, some were lying about).......
no, not the best trip, but very cool.
