Whew! This felt like it took forever! About ten hours worth work here, but it was worth it. I'm actually really happy with the way this came out. Kind of my surreal take on the Gulf oil spill, which is a tragedy.Okay, so I couldn't decide which version to use, the one with the light background or the one with the dark, so *Selfish-Eden suggested putting them up side by side. Thanks for the suggestion! I like the contrast of the two together.
Note: No idea whether this needs a mature content because nothing is actually showing, but I'll put a warning on it anyway.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I agree with you about the lighter version being the better of the two for the same reasons you pointed out. Lighting is just so hard to get a handle on because it's different for every piece.

Oh man...I can't pick a favorite...holy moly. I was making a piece for the same reason, but I'm just stuck in a rut over what the next step will be. I do really like the two images above together like that...it reminds us that night and day pass by and we still don't have a cap on this thing. >.<
