I'm sure we've all encountered and had experience with people who are frivolous with their love, those so-called friends who claim to love you only to betray you. Some people don't understand the true meaning of what it is to love, but they throw the word around as carelessly as salt-and-peppering a sentence with adjectives. That was the motivation for this piece, protecting oneself from that kind of friendship and loose love.I've been working on this forever. A ton of work went into it, and I'm finally glad to have it done. Enjoy!
This is dedicated to and who are both wonderful people whom I don't feel I need protection from.

Eeeeee! This is so wonderfully surreal! The way you worked the hearts into this piece is simply brilliant. I also love the bright colors; the grass in particular really pops out. I can tell you put a ton of work into this, and it was all well worth it! Fantastic concept and execution.

Thank you! This one took so long because I had to repaint the model and all those tiny stripes on her stockings and then erase the path that used to be on the background around all those blades of grass. It was tedious, but I'm glad I didn't give up.

Of all the many beautiful, wonderful things in this picture, the little lightning buggie looking fellows (and that dragonfly) made me tear up the most. They remind me of those still, humid summer nights at home when I would sit on the back porch with my sisters, and we'd talk about how we'd never abandon each other. (and for some reason, always wound up finding a kitten afterwards) The curly little trees are very Tim Burton, and the pattern of heart rain reminds me very much of a sortof Flag-ish image the picture carries. This work is excellent, and I'm very honored by your dedication.

nice idea.. the title got me thinking about one of my favourite songs... and seeing the piece makes it fit even better. I'll just quote the chorus:

This is gorgous. The colors are so pretty. My only thing is, I wish there were hearts falling all around her, not just on top of her head. Not through the whole picture, but just radiating from her like an aura.

I don't think it woulda been overpowering. Right now it looks a bit like they're aiming for her head, like, "HERE WE COME, AHAHAHA!" whereas I think if it were around her it would look like the allegorical Raindrops. I love it though!
