Oh, sweet mother of mercy, it's over with. No more ink! No more! I was ready to rip this page into pieces and eat it. *shudder*The story stuck with me longer than the drawing did. Being a monster is a personal choice.

EDIT: Just for all the Feral Comic traffic I've been getting, let me say first that I've been delighted with how much people have liked it. On the other hand, I'm well aware of how short the comic is, but that was my intention. I am a novelist and an illustrator first; the comic bug doesn't bite me all that often. This is a "vignette" comic; a foray into a story that can't be told in the background of the novel series, Daemon Soul. Trounce's story continues, simply in other formats. I won't be continuing this one, so if you could try not to remark on the length, I'd appreciate it!

What mystery was that? You're making this very confusing for me....I already knew he didn't want to be a monster (he said so himself) and I knew that he did what he HAD to, and of course he hated it. This has to be one of the most beautiful short stories i have read in a long time, with a rather profound ending. I'm glad you chose to do it strictly in black and white-this created the perfect atmosphere for the whole story. All in all, a very stunning artwork.

I love this comic! There is so much originality and detail in this, you are a comic GOD. srsyly, this ending makes me want to cry a little. -sniff- love this moral, it reminds me of a fairy tale or fable or something like that. Can't remember what it is, though. Inspirational!

The concept of this comic is fantastic.
I almost was crying by the last pannel (that's really good, recently it's really hard to do, great work).
The was you did second and final three panels add brilliant effects, the last three make you feel really small.
You should consider short comics like this, you're fantastic at them and maybe you could make them like this one with a comment like "Being a monster is a personal choice." like you had for this one.

A lot of the composition in the frames is terrible, but I did like the story. It was just a little backstory for Vindex; I think I'd have to ome up with another vignette script/moral to do another one of these.
