Description This is the LG-MAW, or Laser Guided Medium Anti-tank Weapon, made by Tyco Arms. It is currently in service with C.D.C. forces. It launches a "smart" rocket with a shaped charge warhead using disposable tubes that are attached to the back of the weapon system.
To keep the LG-MAW's price down, Tyco Arms had to make things simple. To start, there is no smart scope on the launcher. Instead the user uses simple iron sights that pop up when the safety is flipped off. Another thing is that was simplified was the guidance system on the rocket itself.
As I said before, the rocket is a "smart" rocket. The reason that I'm using quotations is the fact that it can be guided, but it can't guide itself. The on-board computer isn't powerful enough. Instead, the user uses an inferred laser that he "paints" the target with. The rocket then follows the laser to the target. It's a cheap method of guidance but it has its flaws in the fact that the user must maintain a clear line of sight.
Here are some other facts about the system. Along with being able to be guided, the rocket can also be launched in dumb mode by turning off the laser. Also despite having anti-tank in its name the LG-MAW is a multipurpose weapon. The last thing I want to cover is its design. The LG-MAW is based of the LAAW (LAW rocket lancher) [link] and the SMAW [link] If those to weapons had a baby, this is what you would get...

Made in PMG.

P.S. I'll make the actual rocket later...

The problem is that a laser would not be on a flat plane at all ranges. With just iron sights, you'd have no way of knowing if your laser is actually painting the right target. Optical sights really aren't that expensive - even the RPG-7 has them. Considering an anti tank missile can cost several thousand dollars anyway, it wouldn't be that much an issue.
