Description This is a mock-up screenshot I created of a modern day Golden Axe style sidescroller beat-em up with RPG elements of course.

I've always wanted to make a game like this.. I made a fake screenshot instead! It's at Nintendo DS screen resolution.

Anyhow, portfolio is nearly complete.

Nice one. Looks like a real, live, 16-bit side scrolling fighting game

Where do you plan to apply? Outside of japan, there aren't a lot of studios doing serious work on the DS. I'd hate to see talent like yours wasted on.. well.. the next super-hero movie tie-in abortion to come out of some place like EA.

Have you considered the indie scene? Casual/Indie games are flooded with great coders, and very few great artists. One could make a hansom living doing art for completed games which need a facelift. And that kind of stuff on your resume can lead to lead artist positions.

Just food for thought.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have considered the indie scene, but have always had doubts about the job security and stability of freelance work. I applied at a studio called Big Blue Bubble last week and was hired yesterday, so i'm looking forward to finally breaking into the industry and receiving some experience in the handheld market.

Thanks for the comment.
