Another beautiful day in Equestria. Ponies are making their way down the streets of Canterlot, and amongst the bunch is an alicorn and a small dragon. This usually strange sight has long since become common throughout the last year, for everyone knew of Princess Twilight Sparkle and her devoted assistant Spike. To see one, you're very likely to see the other.
Today, the two best friends had a special meeting to attend. Not with royalty or any high official. No, just with a friend, but that in of itself was very important.
The two lifelong friends walked with eager anticipation towards their destination. The light chatter of the city where they grew up in brought back memories, and the sights of the tall spires and marble white towers radiated with an elegance worthy of Equestria's capital.
When they finally got to where they were going, Twilight and Spike stopped and took a chance to smell the air. A warm and familiar roasted aroma drifted around them. A combination of vanilla cream, chocolate froth, and assorted pastries greeted them, inviting them to take a step closer. One pony, they noticed, was actually lifted off her hooves and floated towards the door with a dreamy look.
Such a reaction was likely for anyone who attended Donut Joe's, a seemingly simple shop in an otherwise glamorous city. While not lined with gold or obsidian, the small café was renowned throughout most of Equestria. It's reputation for serving fresh coffee, tea, and yes, donuts and other pastries, were savored daily to eager and happy customers.
"Twilight! Spike!" greeted a pony sitting at a table over by the menu.
"Moon Dancer!" Twilight and Spike cried with cheer.
Beaming, the two best friends rushed over and wrapped their hooves and arms around Moon Dancer. The scholarly unicorn returned the warm embrace, her eyes behind her glasses brimming with joy. It had been a while, but the three friends finally got a chance to see each other.
Only one thing remained to make this moment perfect. . . .
The three friends placed their orders. A couple minutes later, after shooting the breeze and catching up with the going-ons of two busy mares and a dedicated dragon, a happy Donut Joe slid toward them three freshly made drinks.
At their table, Twilight contentedly took a sip from her hot mug. Spike, always being one for the sweet side, took a big scoop of whipped cream out from his glass. And Moon Dancer, being no stranger to long night studying, took a moment to admire her favorite form of drink.
Ahhh . . . yes. When it comes down to it, few things are better than friends and coffee.

Beautiful job, dSana. The café looks perfect with its checkered floor and diamond-patterned walls. Those stools are so adorable, and a perfect seat for ponies! Even the lightbulb and fixture is elegant. Brilliant way to display the artistry and comfort of coffee shops.
Once again, and I'm never going to say this enough, you excelled completely at the lighting. The way the sunlight falls into the coffee shop through the windows brings a sense of warm, quiet energy to the afternoon in Canterlot. People are awake and busy, but in a way that doesn't seem hectic or overblown with perkiness. The shading on the characters are good, as usual, and the shadows you added to Moon Dancer's and Spike's cups worked out nicely.
The colors are vibrant and gorgeous. The composition of the subjects are well placed and the background is given just enough detail to be noticeable yet not distracting.
Thank you so much for creating this piece for me, dSana. Over the last few years, I've commented on a lot of your work and am very proud to have done so. It's helped me express both my love for Twilight and Spike, as well as helped me work on my writing. You are a terrific artist and I hope you continue to create and find joy in your art for a good long time.

Nice, I loved how Spike knew Twilight's old friends too, and was pretty good friends with them. (Maybe even more than Twi, xd)
The shading and lightning is very well done in this pic. Only the coffee stands a bit too much out in my opinion.
