Even without reading the comments I smell nightmare for a number of reasons:
1) nurses (or any hospital worker) who worked real late and went home 5-10 minutes ago aren't normally coming back like that. Although, I'm not sure if that's the same nurse without checking; the voices wouldn't be audible far enough anyway.
2) anyone coming to a room quite the distance away wouldn't be aware of an sleeping "intruder" before putting lights on. Without being outside the room first and eavesdropping, that is.
3) that worsening, strange bleeding
4) seems the Moon just moved into the position to shine, but the moonlight's still strange
5) even if they had suspicion of possibility to get worse so someone would still be be on call, they wouldn't have any clue of Spike's presence, especially when he's been quiet for a while by now and only now "got busted"
