Another Looney Tunes pic- and this time of my favourite ship in the Looney Tunes canon - Pepe Le Pew and Penelope. (And yes, the 'spring flowers that bloom in the spring' is a reference to one of the Pepe shorts. The master of hilariously corny sweet sentiments. )

Throughout the Pepe Le Pew shorts, I always got the impression that his stink (and some of his more over the top bouts of affection) were only things that were putting Penelope off (in one short, she was into him from the start and went into a Limburger factory to make herself stink to get used to the smell..... only to find Pepe went to remove his smell so she wouldn't be put off - heartwarming and hilarious due to the irony ), and there were a few little signs here and there that she returned his affections... and yes, she can be just as forward as he is when she wants in the shorts.

In fact, with the end of the 2006 Bah Humduck Christmas film (where Penelope pulls in Pepe for a kiss under the mistletoe), a really cute Valentine's Day phone advert ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhAye7…) and quite a bit of the merchandise, I will admit, it's hard not to ship these two. In fact, the Valentine's Day advert is an interesting case - in most of the shorts, the premise is that Penelope accidentally gets paint or something on her back and that's why Pepe mistakes her for a skunk. In the advert, she's intentionally painting a white stripe on her back.

I'm having a lot of fun drawing Looney Tunes characters - I think I may do one either dedicated to Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner (I recently saw the FIRST one of their shorts, Fast and Furry-ous from 1949 or a little collection of characters next (I also drew one based on Bully for Bugs, another one of my favourite shorts )).
