Mirixiana walked through the gates of Heidmarch Manor with a heavy heart. It was still early in the morning and the breeze from the sea made her tighten the flaps of her long sky-blue cloak. During these winter months, she had occupied her hours in prayer and had frequently neglected her sister and her companions. Carandas was immersed in her books, often in the company of Kisaiya, and the two young women had little time for her. She had waited for a hypothetical first step from Lyrio in her direction, but it had never come. After all, she had been imagining things about the young man and had come to the conclusion that the Goddess certainly had good reasons for not complicating her life with a sentimental affair with the Taldan. Then she had met Septin Madinani at the temple, a paladin of Iomedae and seventh son of a family close to the major branch headed by Darchana Madinani, the dean of the Aracanamirium, the prestigious university of magic of Absalom where Carandas had been trained. The young man was on a mission for the Order in Magnimar and Mirixiana had immediately taken a fancy to him with his sun-kissed complexion and athletic physique. The reverse was also true and the two religious friends saw each other more and more often until they ended up in a cozy bed. Their story had been short but intense until that very morning when Septin had taken the boat back to Absalom, his mission over. Mirixiana had gone to wish him a safe journey, knowing full well that there was little chance of her ever seeing him again.

Elle avait attendu un hypothétique premier pas de Lyrio en sa direction, mais celui-ci n’était jamais venu. Après tout, elle s’était peut-être fait des idées sur le jeune homme pour en arriver à la conclusion que la Déesse avait certainement de bonnes raisons pour qu’une histoire sentimentale avec le Taldan ne vienne pas compliquer sa vie. Puis elle avait fait la connaissance de Septin Madinani au temple, un paladin de Iomedae et septième fils d’une famille proche de la branche majeure dirigée par Darchana Madinani, la doyenne de l’Aracanamirium, la prestigieuse université de magie d’Absalom où avait étudié Carandas. Le jeune homme était en mission pour l’Ordre à Magnimar et il avait tout de suite plu à Mirixiana avec son teint halé et son physique athlétique. La réciproque avait également été vraie et les deux religieux s’étaient vus de plus en plus souvent jusqu’à bien évidemment terminer au fond d’un lit douillet. Leur histoire avait été courte mais intense jusqu’à ce matin même où Septin avait repris le bateau pour Absalom, sa mission terminée. Mirixiana avait été lui souhaiter bon voyage tout en sachant pertinemment qu’il y avait fort peu de chances qu’elle le revoie un jour.
