Nice! I love the Kecleon holding on for dear life, and the use of Swampert's Protect is absolutely ingenious!

Hmm, I dunno.
The sky is much better, and maybe the Protect barrier, but in all fairness the dulled colours made it seem thicker with snow, and not letting as much light in. The colours are nice and vibrant, and the Kecleon is especially noticable now, but I don't think it compliments the blizzard effect o_0

DunnyCT In reply to Jacktoon [2010-03-06 23:21:46 +0000 UTC]
I guess. Originally I just didn't like how washed out swampert was, so I lessened the barrier, but then I had to increase the hexagons, and that led to a whole bunch of stuff.. perhaps I shouldn't have lowered the opacity of the snow flurries?

I can't really say...just the effect of the whirling blizzard is lost a little. Although now a day later I've forgotten what the older one looks like and this doesn't look all that bad now. I guess it's because I had the other in the back of my mind.
Meaning this is actually better than I thought now o_0

Yes, but it lasts a whole turn, i.e until I'm attacked. So I just hope nothing's stupid enought to try...
When a pokemon uses surf, where does the water come from? I'd imagine it loses quite a lot of power after the pokemon uses a toilet.
And do-it do-it do-it! A really dynamis one, plz??

Small difference is small.
Although the ground does look a hell of a lot better.

I'll read into that as a compliment rather than an insult. Although in my defense, I couldn't actually see the shoddyness of the snow what with the whiteness and the fact it was at the bottom of the screen - made a glare.

DunnyCT In reply to Jacktoon [2010-03-09 13:41:21 +0000 UTC]
It's not shoddy now - whereas before it was just made of opaque circles - not good. you'd need to compare it to the old one to notice, though.

Oh well, there's always the quick way of doing something and the thorough way. I guess with something like ground I'd always choose the quick way. Although after something's finished I oddly have the urge/time to do a better one. I never do mind. But the improvement to yours was pretty noticeable. I suppose, it that sense, nothing can ever be "finished", no matter how satisfied you become with the way something looks. There's always another way something could be done or improved.

Yeah...but there comes a point where you've got to say "okay, I'm happy with this", even if it's nowhere near perfect. And I'm happy with it now ^^

Jacktoon In reply to DunnyCT [2010-03-09 17:52:48 +0000 UTC]
Of course, and you should be! I'm just saying that oftentimes I can finish something and say it's good right there, then maybe a week, month etc later I'll think "did I really do this like that? I should have done it like that" and realise, in reality, it was just a load of rubbish all along.

I'm not sure PokΓ©mon have the capacity to use a thunderbox, so I don't think you have anything to worry about there. You could also argue where the sandstorm comes from when you use Sandstorm, or where all the rocks come from in Rocktype moves like Rock Throw and Stone Edge, so Surf? It just summons Water like other moves summon other things. It doesn't have to make sense.
Also Protect would go regardless of whether you were attacked or not o_0 e.g. if you used Recover instead. And it'd still get a 50% fail chance next time. It'd probably last about a minuite and then wear off, so you'd need to take lots of PP restoring items.
π: 0 β©: 1
DunnyCT In reply to Jacktoon [2010-03-06 16:53:34 +0000 UTC]
Well. I'll borrow some of your pp-ups, I'm under the impression you're not using them...and in any case, a single surf can last several routes long in the field. The difference with fire attacks is that eventually the pokemon will have to take breaths, and stop, and restart, thus wasting pp. You can obviously stll use them though, and things like charizard's tail flame are a constant source of heat and light. It's artistic licence!
π: 0 β©: 1
Jacktoon In reply to DunnyCT [2010-03-06 17:08:10 +0000 UTC]
PP-Ups wouldn't help; you can't use them to restore PP!
Some Fire moves wouldn't; Flame Wheel for example. The user is cloaked in fire, no breath involved. Also most fire types would give off heat anyway and melt the snow around you.
π: 0 β©: 1
DunnyCT In reply to Jacktoon [2010-03-06 17:18:33 +0000 UTC]
Well, yeah. But you wouldn't be able to use a flame-wheeling pokemon for transport, unless you're flame resistant. I suppose something like...flamebody or magma armour? You wouldn't be able to ride them, but...oh. Rapidash! Can horses walk in snow? You could give up on fire types and just use ones accustomed to the area, like mamoswine. Or something bulky, like rhydon. Although rhydon are really stupid, they might walk into a frozen lake...*shivers* Maybe a levitating pokemon? Flygon? Aside from the 4x weakness to ice, it'd be a good choice, what with the eye visors.
π: 0 β©: 1
Jacktoon In reply to DunnyCT [2010-03-06 17:31:37 +0000 UTC]
Well, if you were strong there's quite a simple answer. Bronzong; portable tent. I doubt a bell can feel the cold, and you can float it just above the ground, with you under it, if it had Levitate. If not you'd have to lift it o_0 but you could sleep and rest under it.
I don't think a horse would fare well in snow. It just depends whether Rapidash would be able to melt enough around its hooves. And to avoid Rhydon walking into lakes, just evolve it so it actually develops a bit of a brain o_0

Yus, but it could fall into a crevasse that was covered in snow! You could just bring a hoard of munchlax, warm and 'packing junkfood. Or let a drifblim carry you away, if the wind was going the right way.

But that's no fun! I still really want to know what the next one is, but that won't be for another month...tag battles? Capturing comp? Contests? Who knows? Maybe a surfing competition...dunsparse away!

Lol I'm doing a Dunsparce pic now. No blizzard involved, but it's still on snow.
I'm sure whatever the next contest is will be better if you just wait to see what it is rather than making haphazard guesses.
