That's not true. Even if you don't believe in God, people do have natural abilities they don't have to practice to achieve. Practice makes them better, but some people can draw real good from a young age without practice, some people can sing real good without practice, ect.

True. I've just gotten sick of people telling me that all my years of practice and effort were wasted, and that I've only got these skills by default.

A talent weither it be God-given or achieved is something to be proud of. If you worked for it it's something to be happy about and if you were born with it that's something to be happy about because not everyone is born with a defined talent. (I do believe in God and I believe everyone is born with a talent, but not all talents are defined like singing, art, ect)
And even if you were born with it your practice isn't wasted, you have to practice to get better.
