Overview
Dark Elves are the evil counterpart of the fair elves. They emerged during an event called the "Gods Splitting", 2000 years before the events of Book 1. During the "Gods Splitting", daemons from hell corrupted and seduced mortals to join the cause of the Dark Gods, by eradicating the Mortal Realms. Elves are immortal and were never ment to die, but many did die during this terrible event which nearly destroyed the world if the mortal races hadn't teamed up against the daemons and the cultists that serve the Dark Gods.

The elves that remained traumitized from the cruelties, were overcome with madness and turning them into psychopatic killers by the corruption of the Dark Gods, whom feeds on their emotions. Their skin turned more lavender and some gain fangs over time. Their personalities turned from a noble heart to cruel masterminds.

With great sorrow, the fair elves had no other choice then to put them out of their misery, but a great amount of them escaped and fled into the caverns of the Green Mountains in the north of Veranor. The fair elves of Dragon's Grove never enter those caverns, and since then no dark elf has been seen for 1500 years. But in the last 100 years, the dark elves reappeared all of a sudden by attacking merchant caravans, assaulting elven patrols, and causing havoc to dwarven mining settlements. The fair elves are fighting now a guerilla war against them, and still to this day, nobody knows where their captital city is.

Militairy
Dark elves are just like normal elves, superior in archery and spear combat. Some them wore shields which are covered in spikes around the sides. Their armour is not made of the same metal that the fair elves make, instead, it is made of a corrupted metal known as "Nigrumos". which was much darker than iron, but as strong as steel.

Dark Elf armies consist these kind of soldiers:

Dark Warriors: Basic kind of dark elf soldiers, equipt with all kinds of weapons, from spears, to swords and to longbows. Their armour is mostly a chainmail made of Nigrumos.
Black Guards: Act as officers and professional guards of a dark elf leader, equipt with heavy plate armour and helmets of Nigrumos and halberds.
Cultists: Servants of the Dark Gods, making use of sacrificial knifes in combat. Some cultists can cast spells against their foes. Usually dark magic.
Speardancers: Usually female warriors armed with double-bladed spears. They fight almost like their are dancing and wear less armour for increased agility.
Dark Lords: Leaders of armies and are the highest of rank in Dark Elf society, except for the Archon King off course. Wears the best equipments of armour and weapons and are hardened fighters.

Hierachy
Dark Elves are ruled by the Archon King, this male elf is a both a powerfull warrior and wizard whom was also one of the first elves that succumb to the powers of the Dark Gods. As some kind of messiah, he leaded the dark elves to a new place to call their own. He is also the most cruelest of all elves and cruelty becomes part of his law. Laws like disobeying a superior or showing kindness or love are answered with torture and misery. Only the strong dark elfs will survive and the weak are punished.

All the daily work that is down for them are done by slaves from all kinds of races that were captured by their warriors, from elves to dwarves and goblins to trolls and also humans were part of their slavery.

The characters in this picture from left to right and above to below are:

A Dark Elf Speardancer.
A Dark Lord.
Two Dark Warriors.
And a cultist.

*Note* Dark Elves are a common evil counterpart from regular elves in many fantasy works and games. The one's of mine are based on the dark elves from the Warlords Battlecry series.
