As you said that Rem would be sad because how Knives turned out ,I'm on the same opinion that she would act motherly to him anyway.I think that's how she was (both in anime and Trigun Maximum).
Like I said before I could imagine Rem and Vash as a couple but I think that it will be better if she stay as a procective figure for him ^^" ...
And what do you think,how Knives would act to Rem if she was alive ?

Yeah, I think through the whole thing (especially in the manga) Vash is always thinking of Rem, even if only in the back of his head. I guess that is kind of obvious because he is always saying the things she said to him about how valuable people were and not to give up on life. It's even no surprise to me that Knives hates humans with an insane passion. He had them up on a pedestal and then to find out what they did to his sister and would probably do to him and Vash if they were aware of the twin's existence. It's sad though. I think Knives would have been this kind, gentle 'man' and used his great intellect for the good of everyone. *sigh* Poor Knives, locked in his hate like that. Random thought: I think they should redo the Trigun anime.

*sigh* Yeah, I agree with you. And you know, I think that even though she would be appalled by his behavior, she would still love him. She seems like the kind of person who would and could love someone even when they are being full-bore nasty. You know, I bet that is where Vash learned it.
