This is a Zebra Finch I found a picture of on the internet this morning. It took me maybe 2-2 1/2 hours. I used both Pen and Pencil. Mostly pen and then pencil to shade the background, originally I used my ballpoint pens then I realized that I have my Sakura felt tip pens and I went over the lines with the fine 0.3mm pen which made the blacks come out really well in the scanner. However, I realize now that I outlined the head too much :/ This was drawn in my beloved mini sketch book which is 3.5"x5" paper.Related content

Ooohhh I like the detailed texture of the tree bark, and the way you placed the colour on the bird. It really stands out against the grays and adds a nice balance against the eye and dark markings of the bird.

Well, I actually thought I was the only one who felt that way. I loved the way your drawing is mostly black and white and then there is this burst of vibrant orange. It's like when you see a cardinal on a bush in the winter. Everything is black and white and then burst of red.
