Yes, my wife and I are that couple that puts a Santa hat on their pet and takes pictures of it. So we're weird. Get used to it.I took the photo and did most of the post-shoot production. Kristen did some of the clone tool work and directed a lot of the arrangement and layout of the card.
This is being given to a few close friends and family for the most part.
P.S. Murray is a he, not a she.

Oh yeah, people get it when they know the name. But, for instance, when we first took him to the vets. The women in waiting room were all like, "Oh, she's so pretty!" And since not everyone, you know, reads... anything, I thought I would put the useless reminder that he is a male in there anyway.
Some cats do. One of my former co-workers has a cat who loves to chew on cords. Murray does not, nor has my family ever owned a cat with a taste for cords.

i am asking this because i recently found out that my mother lied (well... bended the truth a bit) to me when i was a kid (years ago) and was asking for a cat. she told me that ALL CATS CHEW ON CORDS and that it was therfore impossible to have a cat resident in our flat. i recently found out that cats actually (mostly) don't chew on cords and i made such a fuss over it with my mother that she almost threw a plate at me lol. i think i shall get a cat next year. i an only hope that he/she can be as cute as your murray. oh. and murray was the name of the dog in that TV show: mad about you!! not sure if you ever watched it - very cute dog and the show too lol

Anyhow, we adopted Murray from the local Humane Society shelter. If you visit often, you can find a cat that suits your personality. Don't rush right into a kitten; they can be quite the tumultuous beasties!
As for the name, we actually got it from the disembodied skull named Murray from the Monkey Island series. Never watched Mad About You. I don't like Paul Riser.

Well, I cheated a little. We made this for our friends, and as I was talking to $euphoria about it over AIM I said to her, "Man. I should post this on DA," and she agreed. So, then I went and made the Holidays 2004 category, just for this.

On the whole, $euphoria 's doing well. She's on the home stretch waiting for her man to come home from overseas. Mostly, she's active with things other than deviantART these days, though she's still active here now and again. She's doing a lot with her music.
Do dogs wear santa hats better than cats? My guess is that a dog probably wouldn't care the hat's on his head. Murry, you put on a leash or a harness or a hat or a scarf, he lets it steer him.

Most of the time, cats hate the Santa hats, Murray here seems to enjoy it, he looks like he is in the festive spirit!
I had seen some pet collar with reindeer bells on them last night, no way on earth could you get me to put one of those on my pet. One either the noise factor would drive me crazy, or two, the pet would hate it and just sit and sulk with a "why did you put this on my neck" look on their face.

He didn't really enjoy it. It was mostly the, "Why the hell is this on my head?" sort of thing. Reluctant bewilderment, I'd call it.

I have been through that kind of trauma. In the sixth grade, I was Perdo the Mexican Reindeer (I shit you not) in my school's Christmas pagent. And yes, I wore a full-body reindeer suit. And I still put a santa hat on my cat!
