Looking north I would say by the bend on the tree. A really nice image beautiful exposure.

Nature did a lot of the work for you here, it seems, but you captured it very well in both shots. I'd say the one that got the DD is more interesting from a purely conceptual standpoint, but this one really highlights the absurdity of the natural feature itself, showcasing it without interfering, which I also like.

It might be even more interesting if you rotate the photo different than these, so that it looks like the tree is hanging down. That way it cuts ties with the obvious realities of the other two, where in this one little twigs point upwards on the top of the tree, and in the other photo the tree grows upwards just like every other tree.
Either way, this is a truly stunning photo.
