Description
Vectorization of a great Chevrolet Corvette C6 wallpaper. Made with Adobe Illustrator using gradient mesh and blendings. I tried to achieve a photorrealistic result, so I payed a lot of attention to every element. I worked on it around 5 hours a day during 7 days. Don't miss the tiny details and the provided closeups.

The tires are the most detailed part of the whole image. I worked on them with a huge zoom factor, and broke the vector in a lot of small parts. The seats were easier: just came out fine

Well, in fact I learnt those vector art techniques from a good teacher. But I found later some other interesting tutorials which could be useful.
:enikone: enikone has a very interesting gradient mesh tutorial (he provides two links to this tutorial at the bottom of his journal entries). Taking a look at his scrap section to see the original mesh outlines is also very inspiring: he is one of the best vector artists I have ever met.
And :lemontea: lemontea has one of the most complete vector art tutorials I have ever seen. Besides it can be very basic in some aspects, it's worth a look. [link]
