Description This is a very complete step by step shading tutorial for Adobe Photoshop. But it isn't a conventional shading tutorial, as it focuses on creating metallic effects through shading. It assumes that you have a basic knowledge of Photoshop. I think that even intermediate Photoshop users could learn some interesting trick through this tutorial.

I tried to compress the images as much as possible to decrease the file size without losing much quality. So the file is fortunately not very big.

I hope that this tutorial will be useful. So, tell me if you like this tutorial and if it helped you in any way. Your comments are much appreciated.

I'll try to create more tutorials like this one as soon as I can. Enjoy!

to be totally honest i dont think you are taking light sources into consideration enough, which is very important for metal so i think that this tutorial is more like a "metal shading effect" tutorial

Extremely interesting and helped me a lot. Alto i find your metalic armor a bit overexposed (or simply too shiny for my taste) i must say its a very awsome picture too. keep u the good work.[link]

Thank you!
I probably went for an over-the-top metallic effect to illustrate the main subject of the tutorial, so I agree, it's somehow overexposed.
That picture is rather old, and I wish I had some more time to draw images for fun, but I'm glad you found it useful

Your tutorials are pretty interesting. I'll have to take a closer look as soon as I find some spare time.
My tutorial is rather simple. But I've been working in a couple of interesting tutorials. I hope I'll have the next one ready in around one month (I'm pretty busy at the moment ).
