Description I am a terrible person for drawing this XD

Before the man of science had his lofty goals, there was an ordinary man; living an ordinary life.

I just generally hate how everyone glosses over this portion of Azran Legacy....  like sure the main plot twist at the end of the game was sad too, but it all still ended up happy right? WELL THIS DIDN'T. 
-The long separated brothers make up and fight together
-the man who once was their father owns up to what he's done 
-the world is saved
-blahblahblah
but at the end of the game, Descole still has no one. everyone lived happily ever after-ish but him. His wife and daughter are still dead.
to me that was the most depressing part of the game. not the Bronev family back story. 

now excuse me while I drown in my pool of feelz...

(there's no actual description of what his family looks like so I winged it *shot*)

Cute~ Maybe they didn't die and are just lost. I want to write a fanfiction where in a plane crash that Targent rigged and that killed them. Only the daughter survived and resurfaced with a new name. Also I find it a little hard to believe that Bronev would send people to kill his daughter-in-law and granddaughter so maybe someone else may have been in charge when they were killed.

That's kind of what I want to write. I have this idea where the daughter is interested in archeology and eventually meets Layton and Desmond on a dig.

And there wasn't any real moment of revelation for him, like he finally let go of it in the end. He still put on the mask, and to me, that means he isn't letting any of it go. ;x;

Not to mention the fact that (at least to me) I find it was pretty heavily implied that Targent, and as an extension, Bronev, assassinated her and her mother. I know some people disagree, but when Desmond says "They [Targent] follow Bronev's orders blindly, even if it means hurting innocent children" and not long after, "Bronev! You soulless monster! I'll make you pay for what you've done!" just at the sight of him it pretty much set my headcanon in stone. AND Bronev says to Layton, "I'll have no more mercy for you than I had for him [Desmond]". What else could he have had "no mercy" on Desmond with other than killing his family?

Yess finally someone who understands! I know what you mean haha. No one I know has played Azran Legacy, and only one of my friends has played a Layton game. No one to cry to

I always want to have in depth discussions about his motivations and actions but no one understands ;_;

I know how you feel D: for the longest time i had no one to talk to about it irl, so i ended up somewhat forcing my friend to play it, i even went as far as lending her my 3DS when she got to the last 2 games lol

but in depth conversations about Layton theories are awesome yo~ so if you want to have someone to bounce ideas off of im here and ready to fangirl go!

Oh geez, I've tried to get people to play them too, but not everyone I know likes video games and the others are so darn lazy.

Haha sure! I actually have been fleshing out a comic about what we've been talking about. Who knows when it will be finished, but hopefully maybe more people will think about poor Desmond Sycamore!

I have not yet posted them... I am working on them though. 
I actually have a series (an AU of my BBC Sherlock series) in which I pair my OC Sophia with Vampire!Descole., because I wasn't going to pass up that opportunity. Point being, Descole is a fairly common appearance in my work these days.
