László Polgár (1947-2010), the great Hungarian opera singer would be 68 on the 1st of January 2015.
One of my absolute favourite voices and he was also a fantastic performer. I'm yet to watch this without bursting into heavy tears just from the sheer perfection of his delivery of this aria: youtu.be/Rqdf7H3DK80
He will always be remembered.

until lately I just occasionally listened to opera recordings and was not that much into the genre as to visit live performances, and now I regret it so much that I never heard him live, when I would have been able to

I love opera. Went to lots of performances as a child, and then I trained as a professional musician so was able to play in the orchestra for many more performances. Still listen to it a lot.

it must be so great to be a musician or at least play well! I learned to play the guitar as a child (for quite long really, 6 years) but can't even read a score properly
