The cygnets have left, and so Bryn & Wynn have the Moat to themselves, along the Mallards and those noisy little Black-Heads

Swans are pretty cool creatures, if they don't have chicks they'll let you get pretty close to them sometimes if you do so in a way that they don't feel threatened. Plus it is something to see standing before a bird that can look you right in the eye.

The pair have been on the Moat for four years now, having raised, in that period, some 30 young to fledging & flying off or being driven off.
Having worked with swans before, I've got to know them very well.
The shot was taken with my camera hanging from my fingers, down at my thigh.
I don't have one of those fancy swivel screens, so it's down to triangulation & a lot of luck
