Yeah. Or, misunderstanding the point of valentines, he solemnly hands one to both Kirk and McCoy.

"Uh, thanks? What's this, Spock?"
"I was given to understand that an exchange of 'valentines' was traditional on this day?"
"Well, yeah, but - uh- they're usually -um- betweenpeoplewhoaredating?"
Spock seemed puzzled. "Lt. Uhura assured me that the only prerequisite for the giving and receiving of a valentine was an acceptable level of acquaintance and a altruistic intent. Is this not the case?"
McCoy looked from the speechless and crimson Kirk to the inscrutable and wholly unembarrassed Spock. "Oh, for Pete's sake, Jim, just take the dang thing. It's not gonna bite you."
Spock turned to McCoy. "I made one for you as well, Doctor."
McCoy blinked. And then blinked again. "Well - thank you, Spock. That's very...thoughtful."

OH goodness. You, my dear, are a GENIUS. I can just HEAR their voices! And see that look Bones and Kirk exchange (and hear Chekov and Sulu snickering in the background). And then

Spock's eyebrow twitched as he noticed the amused looks being passed around the bridge. A most un-Vulcan-like embarrassment washed over him, though he took care not to let it show on his face.

"Captain," he said quietly, as McCoy (obviously struggling to keep from grinning as he examined the gift). "Am I to understand that I have incorrectly assessed the purpose and scope of the Earth-holiday and have possibly committed a social faux-pas?"

Kirk took a very deep breath (the grin had penetrated Bones' defenses by now, and was spread rampant across his face) and simply shook his head. "Don't worry about it, Spock. It's the thought that counts."
