I woke a bit ago and i woke to the internet and the world on fire with all the negativity, and i feel its my duty to provide an escape with art. I feel this particular piece couldnt be more appropriate to post than today.

Red sonja is in my top 2 least fav to do draw because shes so difficult. She needs to look like a badass and sexy at the same time. But i found a way around it and decided to not have her look like either.

We always see her kicking GO ASS or posing like Conan so i decided to go agaisnt the grain and have her relaxing after a battle and washing off all the blood and dirt whist enjoying the view of her awesome back yard.

I started with the idea of only her elbow in water so i created a mini water fall/fountain effect and it grew from there. It was a challenge to not have her completely submerged, so right at her knee the stream starts to decend more and more. Water and the colors green and blue automatically scream vacation hence "the ocean view rooms" every woman wants to pay extra for and stare at the clear blue sky. Colors by the amazing Nei Ruffino

I wish i could give her a class o' Rum in hand and a cig in in her mouth to help with the R and R effect, but the sword will have to do.
