Description Evening dragonflies are a genus of relatively small dragonfly living across subalpine regions of Adlesia, in association with any small stream surrounded by vegetation as well as having available prey for their nymphs (active predators of tiny apodus fish, tadpoles, and small newts.) These dragonflies are crepuscular and have eyes well suited for dim lighting as they can't handle direct sunlight and its heat. They are a gentle, passive species who are more rare and only hold territories for a few minutes at most. The adults live short lives, with the males doing little displaying and more harassing of the females. Afterwards eggs are deposited in relatively slow-moving, clear pools along the streams where their nymphs will develop, living up to ten months before emerging into their adult form. This is a species who is fleetingly abundant around late autumn, before disappearing for the rest of the year. Evening dragonflies feed upon weevils, splendour beetles, flies, and cyclopsias. All evening dragonflies have dulled, earthy tones, here pictured is the Ibizan blue-eyed evening dragonfly.
