Description 4-4-0 "Telegraph" hits the model railroad with one of the old Blue and the Grey coaches. Nothing like a few spins for old time's sake.

Yes it has. A small part of my imagination still likes to drift back to 1860s Atlanta and to that little world I tried to create. One day I may pick it back up...one day.

I'm sure Telegraph and the gang still have a few stories to tell.

Quite so, mate, I've been missing it too.
Ooh, I hope that one day will come, man, as long as it won't be a bother and when you got extra time and enough inspiration, of course. ^.^;

Last I checked the Telegraph was a loco on static display at the depot on the layout, with the motor and gearing removed.

Thus why one has a tender with a motor ready to go ^^

But the model was gutted. O_o

No it's not. Worm gear is all still there, just pulled back so the model free wheels. All you have to do is drop in the shaft, screw the tender shank, and away you go. All the power is in the tender.

I never did get a chance to see your production of the Blue and the Grey. Is it still out there somewhere?

sadly no. I no longer even have the episodes myself. It is quite lost to the sands of time.

How did you make the Bachmann 4-4-0 better?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eddie-Sand In reply to omega-steam [2013-06-04 01:52:56 +0000 UTC]

Better contacts plus a some more weight in the tender to keep the tender from swaying side to side with motor torque.

I was wondering what happened to "Telegraph" after "The Blue and the Grey" faded away! Glad to see the model is still alive and kickin'!

He quite literally lives on the G&T RR. I let him out for a spin every so often. Sadly both Russel and Stanford have passed from my possession. (Stanford now belongs to I believe)

The majority of the B&G equipment (Included a ton of stuff never seen on YT) still exists in possession of the G&TRR...you know...just in case.

Glad to hear that Stanford went to a good home What about the original model of the "Texas" that I played in the series?

Eddie-Sand In reply to SteamLocoFan98 [2013-06-04 01:14:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh yah, Texas had an interesting little history. It was bashed up to play "Yonah" when I built my HO scale Texas (Also, ironically now in the hands of ...however it somehow got damaged.) and was broken up for parts later on.

Telegraph and General are all that are left on the G&T unfortunately.

It's not how I wanted to end the project, but alas...it was not living up to the expectations I had set forth.
