THIS IS A HD FAN-SERVICE, DO DOWNLOAD FOR YOUR LARA REQUIREMENTS. TQ.PORTRAIT VERSION HERE, clean and innocent:
It's been awhile since I made HD work like this, but the E3 fever got me itching to produce this, I manage to find cumulative of 20hrs+ last week to complete this work.
This time I try to make something a bit more colorful in my Lara fanarts, which are usually gritty. I may be slow, I realized the island and environment is colorful after all lol...the gradient color scheme of this work is inspired by the new promo art btw.
Yes, why is she holding something quite familiar you ask?!
Well, no specific reason, just a teaser or a spoof for TR 2013 since I don't konw if she'll ever pick up the dual wielding H&K USP MATCH anytime anywhere in the game. I mean, dual-wielding is a serious business really! The kick-back and all....
BUT, from the E3 summary, it is speculated that the twin-guns will be back, let's wait and see then

used part photo reference (a Japanese pagoda) and abundance of textured brushes to paint all the stuff

Yeah, the guns are iconic features of the 'classic Lara', though recently at E3 they announced that she may pick up the dual guns, and of course not these custom ones lol

If you happen to want to worry about spelling, do you mean "Duellist" (a person who duels) rather than "Dualist" (a person who believes in a binary divine, like Good/Evil or God/Satan, etc.)?

I mean dualist as a person who wields a dual-wielding weapon, or any two objects and fuses it as one form...
This character made her self iconic dual-wielded this specific gun, I think the title resonates most with the Lara Croft fans.
No, not Dualism as in opposing sides like for e.g. ying-yang, as you describe.
Though, shooting each gun with two hands require a discipline where you need to follow a rhythm (alternate between left and right), so if one hand shoots faster/slower then the other, both will go out of harmony, hence duality needs to be retain as both right and left hand opposes here.
